Title: Let's Keep the Most Holy
Contents
Even in the first covenant, there was a rite of service and a worldly sanctuary. There was the first tabernacle prepared, and there was a lighthouse, tables, and showbread, and this was called the Holy Place, and the tabernacle behind the second curtain was called the Most Holy. And Aaron's rod that budded, and the stones of the covenant, and upon them are the cherubim of glory covering the mercy seat; of these things cannot be said in detail. All these have been prepared in this way: the priests always go into the first tabernacle to perform service, but into the second tabernacle the high priest alone enters once a year, but not without blood, which is offered for himself and for the transgressions of the people. By this the Holy Spirit was shown, while the first tabernacle stood, the way into the sanctuary had not yet been revealed. This tabernacle is a parable to this day, and the offerings and sacrifices that depend on it cannot be perfected by the conscience of the one who serves. These, along with eating and drinking and various washings, are only the ordinances of the flesh, and are left to the people until the time of reform. . (Heb 9:1-10)
The Jerusalem Temple has three layers of borders. Inside the temple court, the sanctuary, and most importantly, the Most Holy. Normal people are not allowed to enter the Holy of Holies, and only the high priest can enter once a year with the blood of a sacrifice. And this Holy of Holies is like the heart of the nation of Israel, and if this place is torn down, the whole nation thinks it is as good as dead. The people of Israel try to keep this Holy of Holies from being invaded no matter what. Even in the East, in Vietnam, the country of Buddhism, the stronghold of Buddhist temples was a sanctuary, so there was a case where they refrained from bombardment or even invasion of the army. However, when the Communist Party began to invade even there, the American side also put aside the idea of a sanctuary and invaded there.
The nation of Israel was also invaded by foreign invaders, and the temple was destroyed, and thus even the Holy of Holies was invaded several times. At the time of Jesus, there was a temple, and there was a holy place in it. Jesus did not absolutely view the most visible sanctuary as a sanctuary. Judging from the thoughts of Jesus and the thoughts of the Hebrew writer, the most visible sanctuary had no meaning in itself, but what it meant was important. It means that human beings, their society, and the nation and nation must have the Holy of Holies that must be kept holy until the end, and in order to keep the Holy of Holies, they must not yield even if there is a spill of blood. Then, what is in the Holy of Holies, and what must we risk our lives to protect it? is to do
Inside the Holy of Holies is a chest of gold. And on top of the chest is a cherub, which means the Holy Spirit of God, covering the chest with wings. And there were three things in the box: one was a stone tablet on which the law was engraved, which Moses received from God on Mount Sinai. Next, there was a homer containing the flour-like manna that was given down from heaven when food ran out in the wilderness. , and third, when Moses and Aaron led Israel across the Red Sea, they parted the Red Sea and Aaron's staff that budded and led the nation is contained. These three symbolic objects were kept in the Most Holy, where the Israelites had to risk their death.
Paul also said that our body is a temple. Then it can be said that the Holy of Holies exists in this body as well. There is a Holy of Holies that must be guarded as the most sacred place. However, it is only when these three things are present in it that it becomes the Most Holy.
First, it is the word of God. The first words of God were engraved on the stone tablets of conscience. But the board of conscience was broken. Therefore, again, Jesus Christ has given us a new word. Therefore, a person must have a conscience, correct his conscience, and keep the truth of hearing God's Word to become the Most Holy. And this conscience and faith and conscience based on the Word of God must not be invaded by any external temptation. We must be the guardians of the Holy of Holies, who must obey the command of our conscience unconditionally, and must obey the word of God unconditionally.
The second is manna. This means economic ethics. When food ran out in the wilderness, Moses could not hear the people's grievances, so he prayed to God and made manna to come down. But these hungry people raked up other people's shares to prepare food for several days at a time. But the next day, everything he had gathered was rotten. Jesus said that worrying for one day is enough for one day, and in the Lord's Prayer, he told us to pray, "Give me our daily bread." Teacher Paul also said that you should be diligent in a good livelihood with your hands, so that if you have any leftovers, you can help the poor. This is the Bible's view of economics and the spirit of manna to be kept. People should work hard for good deeds to get food, but they should receive it as God has given them, and do not rake in other people's shares in order to enjoy wealth and wealth for the rest of their lives.
Even today, economics places the most importance on the order of distribution, so it is considered a sin to save money. In economics, this Manna-Homel spirit is the spirit that must be kept in the Holy of Holies. If this spirit is violated, the wealth a person possesses will rot, his faith will also rot, and the person will perish because of it. The corruption and infidelity of the powerful today is also due to the failure to keep the spirit of this manna one homel, and government officials and rich entrepreneurs also invade this holy place, ruining the country's livelihood and destroying the human race. Even believers here, if they forget this manna and the Hormel spirit in their economic life, they will suffer a greater loss because of the wealth they have accumulated. If you look at our situation, there are actually too many people who suffer from having no more than one Hormel's manna because they don't have one meal of food, those who suffer because they don't have more, those who live better and suffer because they can't collect more, and there are too many things that they have I see a lot more people who rot, rot, and suffer a blow to their faith by worrying. We must absolutely protect the spirit of this manna-han Hormel for my personality, for my faith, and for the economy of the country.
The third is Aaron's staff. This staff symbolizes the leadership and power of a nation. But in reality, the political leader of the nation of Israel was Moses. But here it is called Aaron's staff. Aaron is a religious leader. This means, then, that all leadership and power should rest with the religious conscience and religious authority. Leadership that is not in the hands of faith and conscience has no obligation to defend. Of course, there is some truth in saying that even evil is better than anarchy, but it is okay to deny leadership and power that are not in the hands of conscience and faith. Instead, power and leadership must be in the hands of conscience and faith. It means that you have to protect it even if you bleed to be grasped.
We see today that people without a conscience cannot believe in whatever they do, and that people without true faith and God ultimately seek nothing but self-fulfillment. Here we see clearly that the world in which this Holy of Holies has been invaded, destroyed and torn down is hell, and there is nothing more to look forward to. We must have the courage to guard this Holy of Holies, but as an inviolable place.
