Title: Let's Kneel Before the Lord

Contents

95:1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, to the rock of our salvation.

95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving, and let us sing joyfully to him with psalms.

95:3 For the LORD is a great God, a great King over all gods.

95:4 The depths of the earth are upon it, and the heights of the mountains are his.

95:5 The sea is his, he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

95:6 Come, let us bow down and worship; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

95:7 For this is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand; we want you to hear his voice today.

95:8 He said, Do not harden your hearts, as in Meribah, and as in the days of Massa in the wilderness.

95:9 Then your fathers tried me, they searched for me, and they saw my works.

95:10 Forty years I was grieved over their generation, saying, "They are a deceived people, and they do not know my ways."

95:11 Therefore I have sworn in my wrath, that they shall not enter my rest.

When the king of one country is conquered by another, the king surrenders to the conquered king, begging for his life. In the past, even in the history of our country, there have been times when kings surrendered to great powers on their knees. Kneeling means humility and humility. When we have done a great wrong to our neighbors or superiors, we get down on our knees and ask for forgiveness. The Bible says, “Come, let us bow down and worship; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker” (Psalm 95:6). This refers to worship that praises and exalts the greatness of Jehovah God.

Worship is the best way we can approach God. God wants us to receive true worship today. In John 4:23-24, the Lord says that the hour is coming, and now is, when those who truly worship the Father will worship in spirit and truth, and the Father is looking for those who worship Him like this. God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him are spirit and truth. Will you truly worship?

True worship, kneeling down to God, pleases God. God blesses us today through worship and gives us faith through worship. Failure in worship is failure in life, and success in worship is success in life. There is God's voice in worship, and God's blessing in worship. God's interest is in the Korean church offering true worship. God's interest is in the church of Christ, who is offered in spirit and in truth. I want you to be a true worshiper that pleases God by listening to the still small voice of God given to us through the words of this text.

1. Worship consists in praising Him.

In texts 1-3, “Come, we sing to the Lord and sing with joy to the Rock of our salvation, for the Lord is the great God, and the great King over all gods.” A characteristic of worldly songs is the praise of people or idols. It stimulates people's emotions. Songs can make people commit suicide and sometimes make them lose their temper. But praise is to exalt Jehovah's name and to praise his creative power. Praise has power. When you sing a hymn, the demons will retreat. Singing hymns gives you the will to live. Hymns dispel fear. I remember when I sang a hymn while walking in the countryside at night, my fear disappeared. When Saul, the first king of Israel, suffered an evil spirit tormenting him, David sang the harp to God, and the evil spirit went away. (1 Samuel 16:14-23)

Paul and Silas went to prison in Philippi while preaching the gospel of God. Because they entered the prison without any sin, they may feel unfair and blame God, but they forget that they are tired and pray and sing praises at night. An earthquake caused the occupancy to move, the doors opened, and the prisoners' chains were loosed. There, Paul and Silas evangelized the jailer, and through that jailer, the Philippian church was established.

What should we praise God for? We should praise him for being our Lord. Verse 3-4 says, “The depths of the earth are above it, and the heights of the mountains are his; the sea is his; he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” God is the owner of all things in nature and humans. Relatively speaking, we belong to him. Simply put, the great one God is our master. It is that I, who is not good enough, is God's work of art, and that I am pleasing to God. These days, there are parents who abandon and kill their own children, but God loves us and takes pleasure in us. So we praise that God.

Worship is our active act of praise, which is important. This doesn't just mean songs, it means our lives. Are our lives glorifying God? Or are you living a life that dishonors God? As we preach the gospel of God, Jesus Christ, to the world, we may face persecution. The Lord also said, “Blessed are those who suffer persecution for my sake” (Matthew 5:11). But it is never pleasing to the Lord when we are pointed at the world for our mistakes. Therefore, as children of God, we must live proudly for a life that is pleasing to God. That is a beautiful life that praises God.

Helping North Korean refugees and helping refugees around the world is mostly done by Christians. Even now, those who have the love of the Lord are taking on the task of serving those who are in the shadow of society without a name or light. That is a beautiful life that praises God. We earnestly pray that we too will become people of faith who can give beautiful praise to God.

2. Worship consists in hearing His voice.

Verses 6-7, “Come, let us bow down and worship, and let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for this is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand. I did. We must approach God with humility and listen to His voice. God's voice is the standard and method of our lives. Before the Bible was completed, God heard the voice of God through prophets and special people. He informed young Samuel of the destruction of Eli's family. He told Moses and Joshua about what was to come. An angel told Mary that the baby Jesus would be born.

Now that the Bible is complete, He speaks to us through the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. Although there are differences in time and space when the Bible was written, these words are still necessary for us today. Through sermons, you can hear the voice of God with a modern sense.

Once upon a time, a college student came to me and asked for advice. The content of the consultation is about the Bible. The content of the Bible was given to a specific person in the past, and we should keep that word today as well. So I explained that the Bible is a book written as the Word of God to save mankind, and it is written because it is a book we need.

The Bible is God's voice to save mankind. Sometimes he speaks to us directly, but sometimes he speaks to us indirectly through a specific person. The important thing is that we must hear God's voice through the Bible. In the Old Testament times, even when God's prophets heard God's voice and shouted out God's message, people turned away from it. So they committed an abomination before God, and they went the wrong way because they did not know the will of God.

Even now, many people ignore the Bible, the Word of God. The word of God is outdated and childish. The standard of sin before God is not the Constitution or the morals of the world. The Bible, the Word of God, sets the standard for sin. Therefore, in order for us to live properly as children of God today, we must listen to God's voice through the Bible. Our worship is a time to hear God's voice through sermons.

Jews have children memorize the words of Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Those words became the basis for raising children. Hear, O Israel, there is only one Jehovah our God. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart, and teach them diligently to your children and keep them at home. When you sit down, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up, you will preach these words; and you shall tie them on your wrist as a sign, and as a mark between your foreheads, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on the outer door of your house. ?

The word of God is the hope of life and the light in darkness. When Samuel was born, the priest Eli of Israel was the leader. But the Bible said that the word of God was rare at that time. At that time, when there was no word from God, his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, who would become priests after Eli, were blasphemers who committed abominable sins before God. They despised the sacrifices offered before God. This is an act that does not acknowledge the existence of God.

Even today, not to mention unbelievers, even among those who attend church, there are those who do not hear the word of God. We are living a life that has nothing to do with the Word of God. It is said that a famous shaman once converted and came to church. However, he said that he had many regular customers at the church.

Dear saints,

I want you to listen to the word of God. Through this worship service today, I want to hear what God has to say to me, what is wrong with me, and what I must decide. We want to hear the voice of God who gives us what God requires through worship in our family problems, workplaces and workplaces, and in our relationships with neighbors. Verses 8-11 speak of disobedience to God's Word, and we must not repeat such misfortunes again.

God promised to give Canaan through Moses. They also saw that the power of God caused Pharaoh to surrender with ten plagues and parted the Red Sea. Even though they saw God's work, they still did not hear God's voice in the face of reality. In the end, all but Joshua and Caleb died in the wilderness. If we do not hear God's voice, we cannot do God's great works on this earth. It is like a blind man who is alive but cannot see in the future.

In order to hear God's voice, it is important to have an attitude of humility toward God. Even if I have wealth, health, knowledge, power, and honor, if I humbly come before God, God will hear the small voice of God through sermons and the Bible. I want to become a faithful saint who bends his knees before God. We want to praise Him with our lips and with our lives. I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord that you will humbly obey the word of God that God hears and become a blessed saint who becomes the joy and glory of God.
