Let's live a life of miracles (Judges 6:12-14)
Do you know Saint Paul II? It is said that many pilgrims visited and drank the water and prayed for a miracle when they heard that water called the Miracle Spring was flowing out of a statue erected in her birthplace in southern Poland. However, after reports that the city had connected a water pipe to attract tourists, many people were disappointed.
Do miracles really exist? What do people think of miracles? Winning the lottery, disappearing cancer, or the landing of the Apollo spacecraft on the moon in the '60s. In the Bible, there are things like the parting of the Red Sea, the making of water into wine, and five bottles of water. Jesus' life itself was a series of miracles. However, people consider it a miracle when the unlikely event occurs, but the miracle we need is a life with God as described in the Bible.
In the text, when Israel was suffering from the Midianites, Gideon was sent. The timid Gideon complains, saying, “Why does the God who performed the miracle of the Exodus cause us to suffer?” God says that's why he's sending you. Moving on to Chapter 7, Gideon comes to Gideon with as many men as the soldiers of Midian, but only three hundred of them are chosen. Wouldn't it be a miracle to fight and win 17 to 1? God works miracles through people, but what kind of person you are is what matters. It is that the three hundred people risking their lives to follow Gideon are more important than the thousands of people who follow their wives and children worryingly. What does God do to Gideon when he is thirsty in front of a brook during the march? Those who kneel and gully drink are sent home, and only soldiers who look to the left and right, scooping water with their hands to dry their mouths, are taken away. That number is only three hundred. God only allowed those who were worthy of the miracle to be taken.
In the Bruce Almighty movie, Bruce is set up to receive power from God and to rule one city of Boston. However, Bruce performs miracles such as slicing soup in half or pulling out the moon, but he cannot change his wife's heart. Then the words of Almighty God were: ‘It is not just a miracle to split the water or blow the wind. It is a real miracle for a child to have a father who always works overtime after work early, and it is a miracle to win the heart of his wife who has turned away.’
