Title [4.6] Let's live holding each other
Contents Let's go
(Exodus 17:8-16)
Today's text is the scene of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt and the battle with Amalek in the wilderness of Rephidim. Previously, the Israelites had been in a position to simply observe what God was doing. But this time, I had to take action myself. This is telling us that we have work to do in order to win the life of faith. Amalek, who goes to war with the Israelites, is Esau's grandson (Gen 36:12). Amalek-like figures are still all around us. Those who think that God exists to solve the problems of our reality or who live in spiritual indifference are the Amalekites of this age. On the other hand, who is Jacob? They are God-centered people who confess, “We cannot live without God’s blessing.” Then, we can see that this war in today's text is not a simple war, but a spiritual war.
In today's text, especially verse 11, “When Moses raised his hand, he conquered Israel, and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed”, we can learn the spiritual principle that allowed the Israelites to win the war. What does it mean for Moses to raise his hand here?
first. It is surrender.
In the world, when I die, I perish. But in the spiritual world, when I die, the family lives, the church lives, the nation lives, and the nation lives. In world warfare, surrender is the end, but in spiritual warfare, if you surrender with both hands up, you will win. Because God is the master of my life.
second. It is to bless.
God has given the power of blessing to spiritual leaders and to parents in the home. If you lift up your holy hand with faith and bless it, that blessing will come true in reality. Because God guarantees us through the Holy Spirit. God is in charge of the prayers of our lips. This is because the Lord takes responsibility for the fruits of the blessings that have been given to our fingertips.
third. is to pray.
Moses prayed to God for the Israelites. I prayed to God, the ruler of the war. As a result, the Israelites won this war. Then the conclusion was self-evident. No matter how tired we are, we must not stop praying. Because spiritual warfare is a battle of prayer.
Dear saints,
When Moses was tired, who held his hand? Aaron and Hur. They, like Moses, were old men. However, when he took the arm of a loved one with all his might, a wonderful spiritual power was revealed. The Holy Spirit works on us. Problems in life are not solved by worry, but when co-workers of faith live their lives through faith.
