Title: Let's live righteously

Contents

Let's live righteously

(2012.02.12. Week) (Hebrews 10:38~39)

The quality of life depends on what people look at and live in as they live.

On the way to work to start the day - <What are you going to do today?> - *If you think that you are going to work hard today, the day will be difficult. On the other hand, *you will be happy to think that you are going to save this salary today as well.

It will be painful to think that a soldier going to war is going to fight, and it will be rewarding to think that he is going to defend the country.

What is life towards? - Some say that life is towards death - How absurd! - The person will be unhappy.

What are you living towards? - We are living toward eternal life.

Not one who lives to die - one who lives to live. A person who lives for eternal life.

Dear saints who live in hopes of living forever - they must live righteously.

Why do we have to live as righteous people?

1. The righteous will enjoy eternal life.

Why should we live righteously?

(Hebrews 9:27) - "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" - Life is not meant to die. It is certain to die once - but after death there is judgment.

Depending on the result of that judgment, the next fruit will be completely different.

(Romans 6:23) - “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The wage of sin is death - The wage of sin is destruction - The wage of sin is eternal punishment - The wage of sin is hell - How terrible is the wage of sin?

Not the eternal punishment of hell - but the eternal reward of heaven - who will receive eternal life in heaven?

(10:38) - “My righteous one will live by faith; and if he goes back, my heart will have no pleasure in him.”

*“The righteous shall live” is clearly declared - The wage of sin is death, and the wage of righteousness is life.

Believe in the word “the righteous will live” - I pray that you will live as righteous enough to receive eternal life.

2. The secret to being righteous.

Death awaits the sinner and eternal life awaits the righteous - who is the righteous? How do I become righteous?

1) There is no one righteous from the beginning.

(Romans 3:10)-“As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one”- Even Jews are not righteous. Even if you were born into a believing family, you are not righteous. Even those who believe in the mother are not righteous. - All human beings are sinners from the moment they are born. No one is born righteous.

2) People cannot become righteous by their abilities.

(Romans 3:12) - “All have turned aside, and together they have become useless; there is none who does good, not even one” - Each of us strives to live a good life, but although we can do partial good, we cannot achieve perfect good.

*Even if you have wealth, you cannot be made righteous by your wealth. *You cannot be made righteous by your knowledge, even if you have wealth.

*Even if you do a lot of good deeds, you cannot become righteous by those good deeds.

(Romans 3:20) - “Therefore, by the works of the law no flesh is justified before him, by the law the knowledge of sin.”

*Even if you strive to keep the law and live your life of faith - you cannot become a righteous person only with your faith.

I've been a sinner from birth - if I can't be righteous by human ability, should I be a sinner forever?

If you are born as a sinner, live as a sinner, and then die as a sinner, how meaningless is life?

But don't worry - there is definitely a secret to being righteous.

3) If you believe in Jesus, you become righteous.

(Romans 3:22) - “The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, without distinction.”

A man's righteousness can be partial - but it does not make a perfect righteous man.

However, if you believe in Jesus - not the righteousness of man - you will receive <God's righteousness>.

(10:38) - “My righteous one will live by faith; and if he goes back, my heart will have no pleasure in him.”

Who did God see and say, “My righteous one”? - “My righteous will live by faith”

*Those who believe in Jesus are righteous. *Those who have been made righteous by faith will live - They are people of eternal life.

3. Those who keep their faith to the end are righteous.

The end of the sinner is death - to live to die is true for sinners.

But the end of the righteous is not death, but life - eternal life.

Therefore, the righteous do not live to die - they live to live. It is to live for eternal life.

It is a promise that the righteous will live forever - those who believe are said to be righteous - Those who are made righteous by faith live forever.

But it's not just believing once. It's not something I've believed for years.

How to believe to believe, and how to believe to be righteous?

1) Faith that is given up in the middle is not faith.

(10:38) - “My righteous one will live by faith; and if he goes back, my heart will have no pleasure in him.”

A person who should go forward by faith - if he gives up on faith on the way and goes back - that is not faith - God is not pleased with such a person.

(10:39) - “We are not of those who retreat back and perish, but of those who have faith to the saving of souls.”

Those who have turned back, those who have forsaken the faith - because they are not believers, they are not the righteous - they will perish. - Never give up your faith. You must never look back.

2) Those who believe until the day when salvation is complete are righteous.

(10:39)-“We are not of those who retreat back and perish, but those who have faith to save souls.”- The righteous are those who have faith that leads to salvation.

Those who believe until the day they go to heaven are righteous.

The Bible once compared our lives to those who compete in a stadium.

I didn't liken him to a soccer player or a volleyball player or a baseball player - I compared him to a marathon runner - and that meant two things.

① For marathon runners, it means that the destination is clear - A person who runs without knowing the destination is not an award-winning athlete. The athlete who will receive the award is the person who knew the destination immediately and ran.

Who will be the righteous to receive life? - A righteous person is a person who looks to heaven, which is a clear goal.

② Marathon runners must run to the end to receive a prize - It would be better if they finished first, but even if they do not finish first, marathon runners will receive a finisher medal if they run to the end. - The life of faith is not competing with others, but running steadily to the destination heaven. - Such a person is a righteous person, and such a person gains life.

*Even though they were born sinners - Those who believe in Jesus to the end are righteous - Those who believe in Jesus to the end enjoy eternal life in heaven.

We rejoice in enjoying eternal life in the eternal heaven - I pray that you live as a righteous person who believes well in Jesus.
