(…) SBS broadcasted a program called “The Way of God, the Way of Man” on June 29th and July 6th. Jesus is just a myth. Jesus is not the Son of God. That Jesus was not crucified. This is not a story that SBS has newly discovered. That Jesus is not the Christ was what the scribes and Pharisees at the time of Jesus were saying. There is also a story in the Bible that the disciples stole the body of Jesus' resurrection. Christianity in Syria does not believe in the cross of Jesus. It is a heretical position of being a Gnostic. The contents of the SBS broadcast are looking at Jesus from the point of view of Islam. (…) There are historical facts that move world history and civilization. You will have to (…)
Let's consider the words of the text this morning. The book of Hebrews tells who Jesus was, what He did, how we believed in Him, and how we will believe. In chapters 1 and 2, he spoke about Jesus, who has the most beautiful name, who is crowned with glory and honor, and the merciful and faithful Jesus Christ. And from Chapter 3, we are told not only to learn such a Jesus, but also to think deeply about it. It's not just about knowing with your head, it's about embracing it. It is to look straight ahead.(…) Are your health problems serious? Fix your eyes on Jesus. Is your child having problems? Even then, stick to Jesus. Internal conflicts and existential questions arise within people. Still, keep your eyes on Jesus. This is looking at Jesus.
① Jesus as the great apostle and high priest (3:1)
Who is Jesus who fixed our hearts and minds? He is the ambassador of the faith we profess. An apostle is a person sent by God. Who is the high priest? He is a person who takes on all the transgressions and sins of human beings and goes before God. An apostle is a person who comes from God to man, and a priest is a person who comes to God from a human standpoint. Jesus is the mediator who fulfills these two roles. Therefore, those who see and believe in Jesus speak of Jesus, think of Jesus, praise only Jesus, and preach only Jesus. Jesus must intervene in our workplace problems, children’s problems, marital problems, and success problems.(…)
② People who think deeply about Jesus (3:2 or less)
(…) The reason we should look to Jesus is in the text below in 3:2. Jesus is superior to angels and superior to Moses. Moses is the representative of the Old Testament law. But if Moses is the steward of God's house, then the Lord is said to be the son and heir of that house. More important than the house is the owner of the house. No matter how nice a house is, it matters who lives there. Even if it is a small room, if the Lord is there, it will become the center of the whole world. Whether or not the Lord is within me is a precious thing. Consider the meaning of Hymn 488. “Sunshine shines on my soul… ” There is joy in my soul when your face, the light of your sun, and the light of your holy life shine on me. There is a song in my soul. It becomes a spring day in my soul. My soul overflows with great hope. Hallelujah! Amen.
