Title: Let's Love the Soul
Contents
Text: Luke 14:15-24
God is love. God's love has been fully revealed to us through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the one who made us fully aware of what God's love is. Jesus came with the love of God, but the world did not know him and rejected him. Because there was no love in them. Among them, there was ‘a love other than the love of God’. In 2 Timothy 3:2 and below, Paul speaks of love in three ways.
1) People love themselves (2 Timothy 3:2).
This is a phenomenon of the last days, and it is a form of unbelief. The body is the visible me, and the soul is the invisible me (self), but people only value the visible self. In other words, we value the outward person and outward appearance, and do not value the inner person. God does not regard people as outward appearances, but looks at the heart (Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Romans 3:25; Galatians 2:6).
2) People love money (2 Timothy 3:2).
Money!, Money!, Money! Materialism and gold first rule the world. But the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the fall of Ephesus and Corinth are a mirror for us. 1 Timothy 6:7-8, “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it; if we have food and clothing, we will be content.” Verse 10 says, “The love of money is the root of all evil; Verse 17 says, “Let not the rich exalt their hearts, nor set their hope in undetermined riches . . . Leave it to God”. Jesus also said, “No one can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Lay up your treasures in heaven (verse 20), for where the treasure is, there will your heart be also” (verse 21).
3) People love pleasure (2 Timothy 3:4).
Korea ranks first in the world for abortion surgery. It is numerically similar to the United States, and it is said to be 88 times larger than the Netherlands, the country of Freesex. Sexual hedonism reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah, a perverse drinking culture, and the devil is at work behind these pleasures. As a result, life is trampled on, character is disregarded, society is corrupted, and order is broken.
The Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:5.
“You (Timothy, now our saints) turn away from these people!”
now what we do
1) Because we love God, we must cherish worship.
2) We must love the church and cherish the saints.
3) You must love your soul.
We need to take pity on those who believe as well as those who are dying and need to save them. The soul is an invisible person that God puts into the human body. My invisible soul is more precious than my visible body. For “what is seen is temporary, but what is not seen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). The visible body remains in this world for one hundred years. And then to a handful of dust, a finite being that returns to dust. However, the invisible soul does not die after being separated from the body, but lives forever in heaven or hell. When Jesus said, “One soul is more precious than the world,” he is saying ① that even if all things in this world are destroyed and change, the soul is eternal. ②It also means that we must not allow our souls to go to hell.
Therefore, to save precious souls, Jesus Himself became incarnate (John 1:4), taught and performed miracles, and even shed His blood on the cross to die. If the incarnation is the culmination of God's love, the death of the cross is the culmination of Jesus' love. Why did you make such a huge sacrifice? Because the soul is the object of love, the object of salvation, and the object of fellowship with God.
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
Let's cherish the soul.
let's love
let's save
The reward for saving souls is very great.
The apostle Paul tells Timothy.
“Preach the word in season and out of season.”
Joy to God by returning one soul to Jesus this year! I wish the saints a day full of happiness. Hallelujah!
