Let's make a better world
(Genesis 11:27-33, Philemon 1:10-14)
(…) God wanted the living things he created to not only maintain the status quo, but to develop more beautifully, more abundantly, and for the better. The reason that Moses was sent to establish the law is for the maturation and progress of the people. (…) Do not think that you are ready, do not think that you are finished, but make a better world for tomorrow. This is the will of Jesus Christ for us.(…) Some people live in the world that their parents made for us.(…) Others make a wonderful and strange environment into a good one.(…) Because of people like this The world is becoming healthier and more beautiful. Let's name three people from the Bible.
① de la
The text tells the story of Terah. Terah took Abraham, his grandson Lot, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, and left Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan. Ur of the Chaldeans is a city of idols. One day, Terah decides not to lead a foolish life, destroys the idol she worshiped, and boldly leaves the city of idols. And go to Haran. die there. At first glance, it seems that Terah's life is a failure. He died because he left his hometown. It seems like an empty life. But take a closer look. Because Terah left first, when God calls Abraham, he leaves immediately even though he does not know where he is going. Abraham was able to leave his father's house, his relative, because his father, Terah, had left his hometown and died. If you look at it this way, there are people in the world who make things happen.(…)
② Jeremiah
He is a prophet who lived in the 12th year of King Zedekiah. It was a time when the country was collapsing, so it was a time when real estate prices plummeted and they were slowly moving abroad. But Jeremiah buys the field. People laugh at how stupid they are, and they don't know the world too much But Jeremiah has a reason for doing so. The hope is that even if the country is destroyed and the Babylonians become captives, one day they will return to their homeland. At that time, I had a dream of returning to plow the land, sow seeds, and start farming, so I bought the land even in ridicule. If Terah was the maker of history, Jeremiah was the maker of tomorrow. We must live by looking to tomorrow. If you look at it today, you seem weak and talented. The calculations are also quick and smart. But these people do not know how to see tomorrow. No hope, no hope, no faith. I can't see the dawn. Only those who make tomorrow can be happy and rewarding today.(…)
③ Apostle Paul
Paul lived his life overcoming reality. I lived with a dream that Christ would fill the earth. He became a fugitive, a prisoner, a poor, and an oppressed person only to preach Jesus Christ.(…) He makes his time in prison his own time. Preach to the jailer. Evangelize to prisoners in the same prison. Onesimus was the one who accepted Jesus at that time. Paul makes him a new person.(…) He turns prisons into places of prayer. We create a place where we sit in a damp, stinky place, do QT, sing praises, pray, and communicate with God.(…) A good person is a person who changes a harsh world with faith. The Apostle Paul sat in prison and created great things that were difficult to do outside.(…)
The church makes history like Terah. Like Jeremiah, we plant the dream of Jesus. Like the Apostle Paul, we affirm the world we live in and actively use it for good. A little while ago, I showed you a video of a treasure map going to the Grace Center. The dream of Sinchon Church is not grandiose. Grace Center is a place where little by little we work together and practice. The Grace Center is a place where you can create tomorrow and live today without giving up on your dreams of tomorrow in any environment. Amen.
