Title: Let's Only Look to Jesus

Parkyeon Falls is located under Cheonmasan Mountain, which rises 16km north of Gaeseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. On the way to the waterfall, there is a place where two cliffs meet face to face, and the distance is said to be about 1 meter. However, there are only a few people who can skip this one meter long distance. Even a small child can jump if it is 1 meter on the flat ground, but when you jump while looking at the cliff, your legs will tremble and you will not be able to run. That's why we named the rock the Rock of Decision. Instead of looking down, think of it as a flat ground, look only at the goal in front of you, and make a decision to run. And when you look at it, this distance of one meter is nothing. Don't look back, look forward. The same is true of the religious life. We must look only to Christ.
“Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
Jesus often went up the mountain to pray. In today's verse, he is going up a high mountain with Peter, James, and John. However, there, the three disciples see Jesus' clothes changing into a beautiful, radiant figure, and a conversation with Elijah and Moses.
For Peter and the disciples, this sight was very beautiful. Then Peter said to Jesus, "It is good that we are here, so let's build three tents, one for the Lord, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." Then a voice was heard from the cloud saying, “This is my beloved Son; listen to me.” When the three disciples, including Peter, heard the voice of heaven, they looked around and saw no one but Jesus and themselves.
I want to meditate on two things in this verse. One is that we should listen to the word of the Lord and do what he says, not according to our own thoughts. Peter said that it would be good to build three tents with his own ideas. This was a subjective opinion that had nothing to do with the Lord's will. To Peter like this, the voice of heaven is to hear the word of the Lord. It's not about doing what you think. It is to obey the will of the Lord.
The other is that we must see only Jesus. A problem arises when someone who should only see Jesus sees other things. Christians must see only Jesus. If you look at other things, you will live with your own thoughts.
He said, “I looked to you in the sanctuary, to see your power and your glory” (Psalm 63:2). Let's remember these words.
Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will live a beautiful life looking only at Jesus.
* Prayer: My joy, my hope, Lord, I praise your precious name. Above all else in this world, let me confess that you are my only joy and everything. I, who have Jesus Christ, also believe that I am the happiest and the richest. You alone are my wisdom and righteousness, holiness and salvation. Let us neither envy nor follow the prosperity of the wicked, and let us hold on to the Lord, who is the eternal wise man. Living God, even though I am so feeble and foolish, I believe that I will be able to become a person who is bold when God works on me and can say, “It was very good in God’s eyes.” Let me look to God alone. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who gives me strength, I pray. Amen
