Title: Let's pay the kindness of our parents
content addition>
Let's pay our parents' grace (Isa 49:14-16)
Filial piety is also a moral command, but it is a command from God before that (Exodus 20:12; Leviticus 19:3). And it is also the fifth of the ten commands and the first with a promise on earth (Deuteronomy 5:16; Ephesians 6:1-3). The character of a person can be seen by looking at how he receives grace and repays that grace. We receive a lot of love and grace on this earth, but there is nothing greater than the love of our parents or the grace that our parents have given us.
1. Parents who have the attributes of God
(1) God does not forget each and every one of us like our physical mother. It is God who makes the baby drink the mother's milk (Psalm 22:9).
(2) God cherishes children like the disposition of a physical father (refer to Genesis 22).
2. God's motherly love
(1) This text clearly shows God's maternal love (verses 14-15). The relationship of intense love that can never be broken is the relationship between mother and child. The greatest love in the world is the love of a mother, but the love greater than that love is God's love for us.
(2) God writes on the palm of his hand and remembers it (verse 16). It does not say that it was written on the palm of the hand, but that it was engraved on the palm of the hand. God knew and loved you even before you were conceived (Psalm 71:6). God has always been watching and protecting you.
3. How can carnal parents forget their children?
(1) This is because they only had children, and they did not give their best to raising their children.
(2) It is because parents did not focus on their children's weaknesses when raising them.
4. What should I do to repay my parents' kindness?
(1) It is to take care of your parents so that they may live long. Don't make excuses to your parents. What we have to give back to our parents is to live righteously. Rather than living well, it is about living rightly as a human being.
(2) You must put your parents' hearts at ease (Proverbs 23:25).
⑶ To cherish the family and pass it on from generation to generation. Filial piety is to raise the honor of the family. In 2 Samuel 18:31-33, there is a scene where David wept because of his son even though he was king. The son resisted and tried to kill his father, but the father is mourning his son's death. This means that children want their children to do well, even if they hurt their parents.
