Title: Let's Pray for the Heavens to Open
content addition>
Let's pray for the heavens to be opened (Isaiah 63:15-64:12)
When the sky closes, disaster strikes.
When humans try to build a castle of pride like the Tower of Babel, the sky is firmly closed. When the gates of heaven close, disaster strikes. When the gates of heavenly grace close, all order in the world is destroyed.
1. The saints must pray in the temple.
(1) God values prayer in the temple (Isaiah 63:15).
(2) The prophet Isaiah earnestly prays for “God's emergency intervention” (Isaiah 64:1).
2. Saints should pray in times of crisis.
(1) Israel's crisis was a disaster itself (Isaiah 64:10-11).
(2) Prayer for the coming of the Lord is a prayer that believers who feel a sense of crisis can pray. The prophet Isaiah believes and prays that God is sovereign (Isaiah 64:12).
3. There are signs that occur when God comes (Isaiah 64:2-4).
(1) First, God takes away the dead parts of our lives (verse 2).
(2) Second, God restores our zeal (verse 2).
⑶ Third, God gives victory (verse 2).
⑷Fourth, the field of vision is broadened (verse 3).
⑸ Fifth, God solves unsolvable problems (verse 3).
⑹Sixth, God works on the side of those who wait (verse 4).
4. We must strive for the presence of God.
(1) We must repent (Isaiah 64:5-7).
(2) We must be convinced that we are children of God and pray (Isaiah 64:8,9).
⑶ We must offer sacrifices of prayer and praise (2 Chronicles 7:1-3).
The coming of God is not a common occurrence. But when the Holy Spirit is present, everything changes.
When God appears, there is salvation, there is the voice of God, and there is the fire of God. Sin is destroyed and God's will is established. When God comes, worship that seeks God, prays, and praises Him with the confidence of becoming His children will be restored, and God's sovereign power will be revealed.
