Title: Let's Pray with Micah / Micah 1:8
Let's pray with Micah / Micah 1:8
Key Verse: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
We should pray like Micah in today's text at these times. He wept and prayed, “mourning and mourning, walking naked, mourning like a wild dog, mourning like an ostrich” (Micah 1:8).
Micah saw the future of her country by the grace of God and felt miserable. So, I prayed for my country and for the people and proclaimed the word of God. He was not as intimately known to the king or to the high ranks as Isaiah, who ministered at the same time. Micah's birthplace is Moreset, a place that has long been ruled by the Philistines, so a reformer was born in the most un-Jewish place.
Micah mourned like a wild dog and like an ostrich and prayed for the nation according to God's will. As the years passed, his prophecies were accurate and he received the grace to become the canon of the Bible. Humans are social animals, so there is absolutely no way to live well alone.
All countries in the world are linked to the economies of other countries, so they rise or fall together. Therefore, Christians must face the dark problems of our country and the world, and weep and intercede to God.
Like my family, my children and my parents, I need to hug and cry and pray. Like Micah, we need to pray so that the breadth of our prayers is broadened. When the breadth of prayer expands, the breadth of blessings will also expand. Just as Micah has a broader spiritual perspective to foretell the place of Jesus' birth and the coming of the Messiah in the future, he will live a richer spiritual life.
So that our prayers do not become selfish prayers, let's pray for God's children in this society, this country, and all over the world, going beyond my problems, my family, and my church. Jeremiah also confessed, “My head will become water, and my eyes will become tears. Then I will weep for my people, my slain daughter, day and night” (Jeremiah 9:1).
Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom and its righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). Broaden your prayers. Let's pray for the future of this country and humanity for our neighbors. This is the secret to enriching ourselves and the whole world.
Prayer: Lord, help me to broaden the scope of my prayer so that I can become a person of intercessory prayer for the whole world. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
