Title: Let's Restore Concentration/Hebrews 12:1~2
Let's restore concentration/Hebrews 12:1~2
Key Verse: “Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
Word: If you look at the words of today's text, it says, 'Let's look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith'. However, I would like to say, ‘Let’s look only to Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of our faith’.
“Looking at Jesus” and “Looking at Jesus alone” do not seem to have much difference, but there can be many differences. 'Looking at Jesus' means looking at many things and looking at 'Jesus' too, but 'Looking at Jesus' means not looking at anything else, but only looking at the Lord, and focusing only on the Lord. Because it becomes a story.
You can see how much a difference in one word can make a difference in meaning. Around Hebrews 12, we can read the stories of the witnesses of the faith. 12:1 and 2 tell how the witnesses of that faith lived.
Another way of saying ‘witness’ is ‘model’. How did the “models” of faith really live? As the story of the heroes of faith is told, the latter half of Hebrews 11 expresses it this way. ‘The world cannot bear such a person.’ I hope that the faith of our family, who is holding this worship service today, becomes a form of faith that ‘the world cannot handle, and cannot be compared with the world’. Also, I hope that it will be a time for all of our family members to think about how great a hero of faith can be only because of the concentration of faith in Jesus Christ.
God's people need to restore their concentration. When we restore our spiritual focus, that focus toward Jesus Christ, we can mature and grow. After planting a church, I really wanted to be successful in the ministry, so I bought all the books about success on the market. I bought and looked at 300 books and found one thing in common among them. It could be found that most successful people had different attitudes and attitudes. It was discovered that they had the attitude to succeed, the attitude to succeed, and the concentration. Let us now focus our eyes on Jesus. I sincerely hope that you will become servants of faith and a family of faith that can fully look only at the Lord and focus only on the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Lord. Please guide us so that the scattered eyes of our family can focus only on Jesus. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
