Title: Let's Serve with Encouragement/Hebrews 10:24
Let us serve with encouragement/Hebrews 10:24
“Consider one another, encouraging love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
There are many encouraging words to be found in Jesus' words. He even encouraged a woman caught in adultery, saying, "Neither do I condemn you, so do not sin again." In the conversation with the Sugaseong woman, Jesus opened the woman's heart through encouragement. The woman who was avoiding people was transformed into a person who witnessed the Messiah to the people of the whole town.
It is easy to criticize others, but difficult to praise and encourage. The New Standard Version of the Bible translates the text, "Let's be kind to one another, to encourage one another to love and to do good." Therefore, when encouraging people, you need to think deeply and use your heart.
Encouragement is different from praise. Praise is given when you do well or when you succeed, but encouragement is given when you fail and fall. Encouragement is acknowledging the other person for who they are. The church is a community that makes up the body of Jesus. We need to encourage each other and build a community. The church should be a place where wounds from the world are healed. Even if you make a mistake, you should focus on encouraging rather than criticizing.
Praise should be accompanied by encouragement. Among Korean humor, there is a series of Ugly Women. A mean teenager is a woman with a pretty face but is good at studying, a woman in her 20s who has the same plastic surgery and doesn't get any marks, a woman in her 30s who is mean and a woman who gets along well even though she has a lot of fun, a woman in her 40s who is mean and who only studies well even though she spends all over the place. It is said that a woman in her 50s who is ugly and does not have a belly even after eating a lot, and a woman in her 60s who is disgusting is a woman who died after her husband made a lot of money. If people do well, they will like you. Why do you feel mean? It means that we are stingy with praise.
An organization surveyed hundreds of men. To the question "When is the best time to live life?", I answered that the first time is when I receive approval and praise from my wife, and the second is when I do well at work and receive recognition and praise from my colleagues and bosses. Praise excites, delights, and delights people. Praise makes even the whale dance.
Dear brothers and sisters, let's encourage and praise hard. So, I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become those who create happiness in life while receiving praise and encouragement from God.
