Title: Let's Take the Crest of David's Victory
content addition>
Let's take David's triumphal stone (1 Samuel 17:39-54)
We see cases where the opponent is too strong and unable to fight, comparing himself to David and comparing his opponent to Goliath, using the word David and Goliath's fight.
1. Faith that turns problems into spiritual warfare
(1) The nation called the Philistines is a powerful nation that has been located on the west coast of Israel for hundreds of years before Israel entered Canaan. Among the Canaanites, whom the Israelites could not drive out, there was a Philistine (Joshua 11:21-22). As a result of not obeying God's word thoroughly, the national suffering continued.
(2) In order to win, we must start the problem from the perspective of belief that it is a spiritual warfare. Originally, the land of Canaan was the promised land that God had given to Israel (verse 46). “Today the Lord will deliver you into my hand” and “I will make all the earth know that there is a God in Israel” How can you be sure of victory in war? David saw this battle as a spiritual battle (verse 47). The world's battles are fought by strength, but the spiritual battles depend on God's side (Nehemiah 2:20).
2. Obedient Faith
(1) David went to the battlefield on an errand for his father. He had a good heart.
(2) God works through those who obey.
3. Faith waiting for dreams to come true
(1) Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1).
(2) A person who is trained in faith on a regular basis can boldly face problems.
4. Love for God
(1) The boy David was not expected of his father Jesse.
(2) God sees the heart of David (1 Samuel 16:7)
5. Faith that only depends on God
(1) Christians need to rely on the Lord alone because they lack strength.
(2) The cause of David's decisive victory in the battle was in the spiritual warfare. When David killed Goliath, all the people of Israel arose and destroyed the Philistines (verses 52-54).
From a human point of view, David could not defeat Goliath, the great Philistine. The reason is that this battle belongs to God, and it is a battle for the glory of God. If we rely on things we don't have, things we don't give us, things we're not used to, we fail and fall. Even with what you have given me, what I have, and what I am familiar with, if I have Christ in me and move forward with the vision of a life that reveals Christ, I will always win (Galatians 2:20).
