Title: Let go of false beliefs
2 Corinthians (37) Let go of false beliefs (2 Corinthians 9:6-9)
< Avoid false beliefs >
A long time ago, there was a time when I watched a movie called <Rapture> and felt very sorry for it. The main character, Sharon, is a female operator with a promiscuous life and is suffering from severe depression because there is no hope in life. Then, when I received Jesus, the process of receiving was wrong. That is, they received Jesus after hearing the prophecy of the second coming of a boy. The course went wrong, but once she saw a way out in her life. So, she ends her promiscuous life, converts her former promiscuous boyfriend, and gets married. From then on, her depression stopped and she had a daughter named Mary and lived happily ever after.
Gradually, the deadline for the prophecy of the boy's second coming was near. The more she did, the happier she became. Then tragedy strikes. Her husband was fired from the same job and was shot and killed by a vindictive person. At that time, several people died together, and Sharon comforted the other bereaved family with faith, although her husband also died.
Then a friend named Paula, whose husband died, says: “Sharon! I don't believe in God. Why are you pushing us to the brink and saying you have a good plan?” Then Sharon comforts him. “Everything is God’s will. Understand what that means.” Then Paula says. “Does understanding a difficult reality change?” Upon hearing this, Sharon comforts her again. “The world you live in is cold and empty, but the world I live in is full of God’s grace.”
How precious is your faith? I was able to overcome any pain by believing that I would soon meet my dead husband through the Lord's second coming. Still, my heart was empty. In such a state, when he attends the boy's prophecy meeting again, the boy mentions the words of Revelation 12:6. “The woman fled into the wilderness, where she was prepared by God.” He then tells Sharon that if she goes to the wilderness, she will meet the Second Coming Jesus.
Hearing this, he reluctantly leaves for the wilderness with his daughter Mary, saying that he will do God's will even if his friend Paula stops him. And she was overjoyed with the joy of meeting her dead husband. No matter how hard he tried, Paula gave him a pistol to use for self-defense.
Finally we arrived in the wilderness. Even after waiting a few days, there was no rapture. On the third day, something like a trumpet sounded, so I thought it was a rapture and ran away with joy, and found that the theft alarm of a car camping nearby had sounded. Mary was frustrated and said she wanted to see her father. "Mom! I also want to die soon and go to heaven where you are. Can we go to heaven because we are saved? If you go to heaven so quickly, you can meet Dad, so why are you waiting here? We die together.”
Sharon said, “Let’s wait a little longer,” and waited a few more days. It is said that Mary, exhausted from despair, hunger, and waiting, is hungry. The next morning, they searched through the garbage heaps in the wilderness, but found nothing to eat. Then Mary wants to die quickly and go to heaven. Sharon said, "Let's wait one more time." That night, Mary is talking nonsense. "Mom! An angel is coming. I see heaven.” Sharon said. “I’m hungry. Let's go get something to eat tomorrow." Mary said. “I'm not worried. I'm going to heaven tonight. I was by the river in heaven.”
The next day Sharon went out to town to get something to eat. And as he drove back to the wilderness, he ate fervently and gave it to Mary. But Mary did not eat. Because it was embarrassing and miserable. Sharon was in tears. And when they reached the wilderness and climbed up the hill and sat in front of her daughter Mary, Sharon stood behind Mary with her pistol and said, "Merry! Do you want to see Daddy?” "Yeah." “Do you love God?” "Yeah." “You must love God. Don't be afraid! Mary!” And then he shoots the gun. And he himself failed to commit suicide.
Eventually, after burying Mary in the ground and driving her car like crazy, she was caught by the police. When the police asked, “How was Mary?” she said. “I killed him. And I tried to commit suicide, but if I commit suicide, I can't go to heaven. But I no longer love God. God has given us too many rules. I waited for him to come out to the wilderness to meet him, but he did not keep his promise. So I killed my daughter. But I can’t commit suicide because I’m afraid of hell, so I have to wait for God. How do I love God like that?”
Eventually you end up in jail. I have a vision in prison. Mary came with an angel and said, "Mom! Jesus is coming soon. Say you love God The torments of hell are so frightening.” Sharon answered. "Merry! I love you, but I can't love the God who made you die." Mary said. "Mom! Heaven is really there.” Then Sharon said. “But why did God give us as much suffering as the blessings? I want to ask you why.” In the end, it is a movie about rejecting God and falling into eternal suffering.
I watched this movie with a really sad heart. How often do you hear the wrong voice, take the wrong path, blame God, and eventually turn away from God? There are many people who fall into similar false beliefs. The human soul is so fragile. How can you protect your soul from false beliefs? Basically, we have to get rid of the desire to reap without sowing.
