Title: Life's Motto/Ephesians 6:5-9
In the days of the Apostle Paul, there was slavery. These words, beginning with 'servants' in Ephesians 6, refer to these slaves. Many of these slaves became Christians. They felt true freedom by becoming Christians, but they did not die from reality. They were beaten, framed, and their hands and feet were amputated. It was only when they finally returned to Christ that they felt true freedom. Jesus tells them to be brave in your service. Just as Jesus came to serve, not to be treated, he was telling them to serve their master with joy. Here the great life motto is presented.
I. I will serve
The Holy Spirit is present among us to serve the Lord. Husbands serve their wives, and wives serve their husbands. Parents serve their children, and children serve their parents. It is a people who serve each other rather than giving orders and being respected and treated. There are no specific rules for serving, you just have to do it with a happy heart. All you have to do is serve others with a happy heart as you would to the Lord.
II. This motto affects our work
This motto has a tremendous impact on what we do. It is to make an amazing history, as if it were starting a revolution. “If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.” (Romans 14:8) Those who truly serve the Lord will obey for the glory of God. “Slaves, obey your masters in the flesh with fear and trembling and with sincerity, as to Christ” (Ephesians 6:5). Serving the Lord requires holy prudence. It is not something you do with your lips in moderation, but you have to serve with fear and trembling. A true servant does not choose his own will. Whatever the circumstances, we must do God's will only with our hearts. The one who serves knows that everything is under God's watch. Therefore, you will be able to do everything with sincerity without blinding yourself. Such people know that God is a rewarder.
Ⅲ. This motto will elevate our spirits
When we try to serve others in this world, suffering and adversity will come. It's never been easy. However, those who serve as if they are serving the Lord will have their grievances and resentments disappear, and instead will overflow with joy. We are often zealous out of love for our leaders. If the leader is zealous in front of him, the people below him will follow him with allegiance. How much more can we not help but thank and follow Him who gave up everything for me and came to this world? Before God, we must not be stingy. Those who live in this world with a heart of serving the Lord are satisfied with being approved by the Lord and do not despair because of people's unbelief. Don't be discouraged by failure. All of these are privileges that come from serving the Lord.
I will conclude
We are to be servants with a happy heart. Because we are creatures. Creatures exist for their Creator. So, remember your duty and live a life of service. We are also His new creations. If you have not lived for the Lord until now, now that you are a new creation, you must serve the Lord in Christ and live with the heart of serving others. We are saved saints. It belongs to Christ. At the same time, we are united with Christ. Christ is our head and we are his head. Just as the head and the body need to be attached to live, so we must become one with Christ. In the midst of this, I hope that you will be able to serve Christ and serve our neighbors as if you were serving Christ.
