Title: Life's Waves

Contents

surf in life

If you go to the beach on the east coast in summer and play in the water, there is a fun game. It is playing on the waves that occur on the beach. Unlike the west coast, the east coast has waves. A wave rises from the inside of the sea and comes rushing to the shore, and when a person hits the wave, it immediately floats to the shore and is pushed away. Therefore, in the case of children, while playing at the beach on a tube, the sudden waves may overturn them and push them towards the beach. Therefore, older children and adults ride a tube with their backs toward the beach, and when a wave comes in, they enjoy being pushed to the beach with that power.

However, there is a game where you can enjoy this kind of ‘surfing’ more technically. It is to take a wooden board or a wide board made of polyurethane, go to the side of the waves, and when the waves come, get on this wide board with your back to the waves and go to the beach.

This is called Surfing in English. Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean is surrounded by the sea, so it seems that there were people who enjoyed the waves. But in 1920, a Hawaiian Olympic gold medalist in swimming named Paoa Duke Kahanamoku opened the first surf club in Hawaii. Since then, more and more people around the world enjoy surfing, and some people in Korea also enjoy it.

It is said that surfing, or surfing, and good riders prefer when the waves rise high enough to be considered dangerous than on days when the sea is calm because there is no wind. This is because you can rely on the powerful power of higher waves and enjoy the thrill of surfing with that power.

As we live in this world, there are times when certain powerful problems come up that seem to knock us over like a wave. It could be an accident, a failure, a disease, or a conflict in a relationship. A person's life is never smooth. Just as the sea is not always calm and we never know when, how, and what kind of waves will arise, so is our life. If we live in the world, how should we live when we encounter countless waves of life?

Many people become frustrated and discouraged when any wave hits them in their life. There are people who can't beat the waves of life and ruin their lives. Looking at suicide cases among Korean adolescents through an Internet search, a student committed suicide because of poor grades, and another committed suicide because of a woman or boyfriend he was dating.

However, the opposite is the case. There was a man named Choi Seok-chun (Steve Morrison, 53) who was adopted from Korea when he was 14 years old. Steve was so grateful to his American adoptive parents for adopting him, so he studied hard to repay the favor. He wasn't good at math when he was in Korea, but when he went to America and studied hard to please his adoptive parents, he became good at math. He didn't even know he had such a good haircut. After studying so hard, he later became a senior research fellow at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where the most talented people in America gather. As a result of living hard with gratitude for his adoptive parents, he became a good and kind person who made the world happy, taking the lead in the movement to adopt abandoned orphans.

Even in the Bible, there are people who met the great waves of life, but they did not fall into the waves, but rather succeeded. Jacob, his eleventh son Joseph, the leader of the Exodus, Moses, David, Daniel, Mordecai, Esther, and many others met with the great waves of life and faced the crisis of death They became great people.

Twelve spies of the Israelites from Egypt returned from searching the land of Canaan. From there, they brought fruits and vegetables from the land of Canaan, how good it was. However, 10 of them interpreted the conquest of Canaan negatively. Because the people of Canaan were tall and their cities were high, it was interpreted that if they went to war with them, they would all die. However, Joshua and Caleb argued that even though they were strong, the Almighty God who rescued us from Egypt was with us, so we had nothing to worry about. They argued that they were the food God gave us. What is the result? The ten spies with a negative mind and all the Israelites who participated in their negative thoughts died in the wilderness, but Joshua and Caleb, who considered the land of Canaan as our food, became the main characters to conquer the land of Canaan.

In our case, too, we must judge ourselves positively. Even though I am poorer than others, I am poorer than others, I am not good at studies, or I have weak strength, I have to know that I am a precious creature of God. Our Heavenly Father, who is the Creator Almighty, sent His Son, God Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to save us from eternal destruction in hell because of our sins. How grateful and grateful is this? What is God's purpose in giving us this wonderful love?

Thank God for saving me thanks to God's grace. To please me, I want to learn the Word diligently and live a good and righteous life according to the Word. The goal is to nurture us as holy people who resemble God so that we can become people of the eternal glory of the kingdom of God, free from sin, death, sorrow, and misery, and overflowing with truth, freedom, and happiness.

However, they understood God negatively, asking, “Why did you make me like this?”, “Why did you make me come from a poor family?”, “Why didn’t you make me a person with a high IQ?”, “Why did you have a person or height?” Didn't you make it good?" If you become a person who complains to God, how can you live your life happily?

See also today's psalm.

The author of the psalm confesses, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word” (Psalm 119:67), “It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes” (Psalm 119:71). do. The author of this psalm confesses that if he had not suffered, he would not have been proud to seek God, and thus would have gone down the path of sin. However, through suffering, he sought God, learned the truth through God, and, therefore, became a person who enjoyed God's great and wonderful grace. Therefore, from then on, no matter what kind of hardships or any waves of life, I never lose heart, and I have become a person who can serve God with joy.

Dear brothers and sisters, I hope you do not become discouraged when you suffer.

When we are in trouble, let us turn to God rather than complain. In times of hardship, let's ride the waves of hardship by surfing and use it as an opportunity for my success. Rather than complaining, getting angry, and hating the people around you when you encounter painful things in life, I hope you use this as an opportunity for God's blessing. Don't be like Ki-Tae Kim, but be like Seok-Chun Choi - Steve Morrison. Consider the inventor Edison. He is a man who has experienced countless failures in his life. However, no matter how many failures, they were not discouraged. Because every time he failed, he learned the skill to invent something better. Edison rode the waves of failure well and succeeded as the inventor of the waves with the power of those waves.

There is an old woman named Cha Sa-soon (68 years old) who lives in Soyang-myeon, Wanju-gun. This grandmother took the driver's license written (department) test 553 times and passed the 2nd normal written test with an exact cut-off score of 60. This grandmother invested about 5 million won for 5 years until she passed this exam. Therefore, the news of this grandmother was known through national newspapers, and it is said that the news of this grandmother was broadcast as a foreign topic in Canada and Russia as far away as possible. Was Cha Sa-soon famous because she was smart? He was not smart enough to fail 552 times, but he became famous because of his mental ability to never give up and try until the end.

Dear saints, as we go through life, powerful waves that make us hard and upset are coming to overthrow us. But don't fall for the waves. I hope you have a good ride on that wave. Riding those waves well is a positive view of life. Because behind our lives there is a God who saved us.

So, when difficult and difficult things come your way, let's not despair or complain. Just as Edison failed dozens of times and hundreds of times, he succeeded by challenging himself until the end. Let's live this life of faith successfully in the Lord. ?
