Title: Life for the Joy of God
Text: Ephesians 5:10
Life is designed for God's pleasure. At the birth of life, God was present as an invisible witness and was smiling at our birth. God wanted us to be alive on this earth and was very pleased with our birth.
We often forget that God has feelings. God feels everything very deeply. You feel sadness, jealousy, anger, joy, joy, contentment, sympathy, compassion, and sorrow. And he loves and rejoices, rejoices and loves. To please God, to live for God's purpose is the first purpose of life. Life exists for God's good, for God's glory, for God's purpose, and for God's pleasure. A full understanding of this truth shows how important we are. We cannot have anything more precious than this because we are so important to God and because He values us enough to be with Him forever.
God revealed to the whole world that He was pleased with Jesus. (Matthew 3:17 A voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.")
Jesus is the Son of God. God received joy through Jesus. Therefore, God is pleased when we welcome and resemble Jesus.
1) God is pleased when we believe in Jesus. (Faith/Worship)
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. Therefore, it is natural for God the Father to be pleased when Jesus welcomes us.
No one can please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). By having faith, we can please God. Faith is no different. It is to receive Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son sent by God. (John 1:12) When we have faith in Jesus whom God is pleased with, God is most pleased with Him.
We try to replace faith with what we know, which is really wrong. Knowledge can never replace faith.
In conversation with Jesus and Martha in front of the tomb of Lazarus, Martha said, “I know that if Jesus prays even now, God will answer him.” (22) Jesus says, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha confesses that she knows that she will be resurrected on the last day (24). But Jesus is not satisfied and repeatedly says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in me will not die. Do you believe this?” She confesses, “I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who is to come into the world.” Then He sends her. (John 11:20-27)
Only faith can please God. We must increase our faith, not our knowledge. Knowledge is in our heads, and faith is in our hearts and souls.
Knowledge is expressed through our mouths, and faith is expressed through our lives. That is why Jesus demanded faith, and God is pleased with it.
2) God was pleased when Jesus lived by faith. (Life/training)
Jesus completely believed in God. So, when he prayed, he confidently proclaimed in front of many people, confident that God would answer him. (John 11:41-42) Not only that, he entrusted his life completely into the hands of God the Father (Luke 23:46). and said to him, “Father, into your hands I commit my soul.” After saying these words, he died.
Living by trusting in God, relying on Him, asking Him, asking Him, is something that God really pleases. God was angry with Israel because they said they believed in God and did not rely on Him, they closed their ears, they hardened their hearts, they worshiped wrong idols, and they lived immersed in that culture.
3) God was pleased when Jesus acted with love. (fellowship)
God is love (1 John 4:8). That is why He pleases those who love him. Jesus lived a life of love because he really knew the heart of Heavenly Father. The depth of Jesus' love can be seen in his love for his disciple, Judas, who had betrayed him to the end. (John 13:1 He loved his own people in the world, but he loved them to the end) And, through embracing the disciple who betrayed Peter, he deeply loved him. You can tell. Even though they worked all night long, when they couldn’t catch a single fish, Jesus came at dawn and had them cast their nets on the right side of the boat so that they could catch fish enough to tear the nets and prepare breakfast so that they could eat to their fullest (John 21).
Above all else, Jesus showed his love through the cross. By giving up his life on the cross, he showed God's unsparing love.
Therefore, God is pleased when we have love that resembles Jesus.
Jesus glorified God by loving us. Therefore, I also glorify God by loving God's family. (Romans 15:7 Therefore, receive one another as Christ received us to the glory of God.)
4) God was pleased when Jesus gave everything to God. (Ministry-Serving)
Jesus gave everything that God gave to Him, exclusively for God. He even gave his family to God. He revealed the glory of God by using the words, power, and wisdom that were given to him.
God is pleased when we use the material God has given us for good works. (2 Corinthians 9:13 Using this ministry as a witness, your sincere faith in and obedience to the gospel of Christ and your generosity in serving them and all others) Glory to God through the Bible / Easy Bible - Your almsgiving will bring glory to God because it is evidence that you believe and obey the gospel of Christ and that you have generously helped them and all others. will.)
5) God was pleased when Jesus spoke to people about God. (Evangelism)
Jesus proclaimed all the secrets of heaven that God had given them. He fully revealed the truth about salvation and judgment. He did it perfectly so that he no longer needed anything else. So God was pleased.
God doesn't want secrets to be buried. He wants to share the truth we know with others. It is a great privilege to introduce Jesus to others, help them discover their purpose in life, and prepare them for that eternal destination. (2 Corinthians 4:14-15 He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and you and We know that we will build together. All this is for you, so that God's grace may spread to more and more people, so that they can overflow with gratitude and glorify God.) It brings glory and joy to God by using privileges habitually.
Paul confessed to the Corinthian church that he tried to be pleasing to the Lord whether he was physically present or absent. (2 Corinthians 5:9) And for the Ephesian church, try what can please God (Ephesians 5:10). ), he asked.
This voice is just for us. Whether I live or die, I am to please the Lord, and whatever I do, I must have the wisdom to please God.
We are created and called to please God.
You can please God by being like Jesus. Faith (worship), love (fellowship), discipline, devotion (ministry-service), proclamation (evangelism) These words show Jesus and are pleasing to God. We want these words to be familiar to our lives. I want you to obey with the will to live a life of faith, love, devotion, and proclamation. When that happens, God is pleased.
Now, find out what part of our lives we need to be more conscious of for the joy of God, rather than knowledge and words. And update that part. God will be pleased and God will be glorified. And he will give us the glory of victory.
I pray in the name of the Lord that all of us will be a channel of blessing to live a wonderful life of faith for the joy of God.
