Title: Life given and life made
Contents
“O Lord of heaven, I lift up my eyes to you. As the eyes of a servant wind on the hand of his master, and the eye of a maidservant on the hand of his mother-in-law, our eyes wait for the LORD our God, and we wait for mercy on us. Have mercy on us, be merciful to us, for our bitter contempt abounds over us; the scorn of the peaceful and the contempt of the proud abounds in our hearts."
Today, I will share a sermon with you under the title of “Given Life and Created Life”.
Those who believe in God confess that God in heaven is the absolute sovereign who created and governs the heavens and the earth and all things, and believes and acknowledges that our lives and our lifetimes are the lives that God has given us. But atheists and humanists do not acknowledge the existence of God. If you look at the Juche ideology of North Korean communists, the subject of their Juche ideology is the absurd humanism that the center of the universe is man and history is created by man. For that reason, we believe that human life is not a life given from above, but a life created by humans themselves. For that reason, they try to solve everything by relying on human wisdom and knowledge. However, those who have lived more than 40 years of life have a vague understanding of what they have experienced. It seems that fate is an irresistible providence for human beings, and that human beings do not go as they please. We feel that our lives are not ours, but God's, that our steps are not our own, but that there is a path that God has ordained.
1. Adam's Ignorance and Failure
First, what we want to examine today is the ignorance and failure of our ancestor Adam.
Adam did not realize that his life belonged to God the Creator and that he had to live the life God gave him.
The life God gave to Adam and Eve was to serve God, to protect and nurture Eden, and to live by governing all living things. But the devil deceived Adam's life as Adam's and that Adam himself could make his own life. So, we ate the forbidden fruit and declared our independence. You don't have to depend on God to decide for yourself what's good or bad. I will lead an independent life. He wanted to make himself God. So, I declared independence from God and tried to live a life I made myself. As a result, he was expelled from Eden, and he tried his best to create his own life with his own power, but failed. When we look at the lives of Adam and his descendants, we try to create a righteous life, but discover that we do not have the strength to live righteously, and we become slaves to sin. I did not live a holy life. Trying to create a holy life
