Title: Life in Jesus / John 5:24-29

John 5:24-29
Today's text is a bit heavy, but it is something we must know.
Whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life
does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
He said that those who hear the words of Jesus and believe in God through those words have eternal life. There are three important words in today's text. ‘Those who believe, eternal life, judgment’. These three words are the most important words in our faith life. If you understand these three words well, you can say that you have understood all the doctrines of Christianity.
believer
What does 'believers' mean? The text reads like this: “He who hears my word and believes in him who sent me.” Faith comes from hearing the words of Jesus.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ Romans 10:17
What did Jesus say? How did Jesus live? What did Jesus tell you to do? Hearing this is faith. Jesus is God who came as a human being. Jesus is the one who showed God directly to man. It does not mean that God showed His face or appearance. The words of Jesus are the words of God, the life Jesus lived is the image that God wants, and the actions of Jesus are the actions of God itself. So Jesus said to the disciple Philip, who asked to show God,
Philip, I have been with you so long, do you not know me?
He who has seen me has seen the Father; why do you say, “Show the Father?” John 14:9
Just as seeing Jesus is seeing God, hearing Jesus' words is hearing God's words. “Listen to me,” he said. To ‘hear’ does not mean to hear with the ears. Anyone can listen. ‘Hearing’ means ‘hearing and doing’, ‘hearing and obeying’. If you call a child and they do not answer, you are not listening. No matter how much you listen, if you don't act, what's the difference from not listening? That is why the Lord said that he who hears and does not act is like a house built on sand. He who believes is a hearer, and he who hears is a doer. The doer is the hearer, and the doer is the believer.
eternal life
Eternal life refers to eternal life, salvation. In the Gospel of John, the words life and eternal life appear more often than the words salvation.
There are three kinds of life in the Bible. physical life, spiritual life, eternal life,
Physical life is the life we currently enjoy in our bodies. Heartbeat, breathing, eating, drinking, working... This is the physical life that all human beings have.
What is spiritual life? What do our souls have? The life born again by believing in Jesus, the life as a vessel in which the Holy Spirit dwells, the life we enjoy in faith by worshiping God and taking the Word of God as our food, that is the spiritual life. The life that has been transferred from death to life, which is said in today's text, "(whoever believes) has passed from death to life," is the spiritual life. Only those who believe can have this life. It is the life that comes from being born again. Unbelievers have only physical life and no spiritual life. Because unbelievers have not yet been transferred “from death to life.”
Even those who have this spiritual life end their physical life. Physical death is inevitable. However, those who have spiritual life are those who have been promised eternal life. Eternal life is the life you enjoy in the eternal kingdom. He said it was eternal life.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
And no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28
Dear saints, please believe that you are the people of eternal life. This belief makes us conquer the world This belief becomes the strength that enables us to live by the Word. With this faith, I pray that you will be born again with faithful faith every day.
Referee
does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
God is love, but God is just. Why does the Bible speak of salvation? This is because there is an inevitable judgment that comes from God's justice (justice). If there is no judgment, there is no need for the grace of Jesus on the cross. Because no one can escape God's judgment through our actions, He created the grace of atonement for the cross. He has opened the way for us to receive life without being judged. Jesus was judged on our behalf. If you just believe in this fact, God will not judge you and will not remember your sins or transgressions at all. So that's what we're talking about in today's text.
Whoever believes has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
There is a referee. Our life is a stewardship life. I can live my time, my body, and my life that God has entrusted to me. I can use my body, my wealth, and my talents as instruments of righteousness or as instruments of the world. As long as I live, it's up to me. Because God has entrusted it to us. But the time will come when we will calculate before God. The time has come to ask how you have used your time entrusted to you, your wealth, and your talents.
Rejoice, young man, in your youth; let your heart rejoice in the days of your youth.
Do what your heart desires and what your eyes see
But know that God will judge you on all these things. Ecclesiastes 11:9
Those who have done good will come out to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. Everyone will stand before God. Those who were cut off from God and lived with spiritual death will be judged by God, but those who have spiritual life, and therefore those who have eternal life, will receive the resurrection of life.
These days, I see a lot of people appearing in the media because of the death of Beopbeop. You are a great person. I also read a few of his books. But a good life alone will not save you. We must receive the grace of the atonement of Jesus Christ to be saved and receive life. Even if you are good on your own, you cannot solve the sin within yourself. In God's eyes, believers are more beautiful and wonderful. It is because those who believe receive the grace of Jesus' redemption and whose name is written in the book of life.
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne.
The books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life.
The dead were judged according to their deeds, according to what is written in the books, Revelation 20:12
Whosoever was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
There are two kinds of people in the world. There are people who live with life and there are people who live with death. Those who embrace Jesus have life, and those who embrace the world embrace death.
If you put flowers in a basket, it becomes a flower basket. However, if you put fish in it, it becomes a fish basket. Baskets are in the same basket, but different depending on what is packed. If you put trash in a bowl, it becomes a trash can, and if you put treasure in it, it becomes a treasure box. What you put in your life tells a person.
In a book called DASH, ‘Eric Aronson’ said that there are principles of GIGO and principles of TITO in life. The principle of GIGO stands for Garbage In, Garbage Out. It means that if you input garbage in the human mind, garbage will come out. The principle of TITO is the opposite. Treasure In Treasure Out, meaning that when you put in a treasure, it comes out.
He who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh
Whoever sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Galatians 6:8
There is life. Therefore, there is life in those who receive Jesus. He said that whoever believes in me will not perish but have eternal life. Those who believe in Jesus have passed from death to eternal life. I bless you that this belief becomes your clear confession. And I bless you as the saints who overcome the world with this faith and enjoy the life of a child of God in joy through faithful faith every day.
