Title: Life in vain/Job 7:1-10
Content Job 7:1-10
empty life
Job introduces his view of life while lamenting the unfortunate fate of life. Job says that life is never-ending and always hard. However, it is said that weakness in life is rather a blessing to life, because weakness and insufficiency make us seek God.
The greatness of the Bible can be found in that it presents a naked picture of human life despite its responsibility to record God's divine self-revelation. The Bible records human sorrows and joys, beauty and ugliness, and even the history of betrayal, without hiding it.
Also in the text, we see the cry of a sad soul groaning in the midst of extreme tribulation and pain. I believe that the question of <How does Job respond as a model of suffering human beings as a single person before God?> will help us a lot when we are weary of a hard life.
If we look carefully at the text, Job is gradually recognizing the shadow of deep emptiness that is cast over his life itself as he endures unbearable pain with his whole body. Now, let's take a look at that recognition and process in three stages.
##### 1. Recognizing that there is a war in life
The situation Job enumerated in the text is tragic. He expresses his life as a war in which only pain is left behind by fighting (1).
In fact, warfare is an extreme demonstration of human cruelty and animal cruelty. Whatever the motive or ideology of the war, once the battle begins, there is only Abigyuhan's struggle in the desperate situation of death or death. Nevertheless, it is the fact that there has been very little time since the beginning of the war on this earth where there was no war. This is a tragedy that proves the depravity of life.
In the text, Job describes the futility and pain of life, taking as an example the imminent threat of war, which is common to all human beings. War here will not just refer to large-scale battles between nations.
--Envy, fights, and even serious harm can be witnessed around us due to individual resentment or retaliation. Therefore, the saints should know that everyone has the same nature of envy and jealousy and should not be swayed by emotions in everything. That is why, wherever we go, we are asked to do our best as mediators in resolving disputes and conflicts.
##### 2. Recognizing the existence of a species
Job describes life as servants and laborers (2).
In ancient society, slaves were treated like objects, and they lived a miserable life compared to their superiors, who enjoyed favor and freedom. Therefore, it is natural that their hope was that the days would pass quickly, the sun would set and darkness would come, and they would go to bed in peace (verse 2).
Job is saying that life is hard, and that life is like a servant and a laborer exhausted from hard work all day long.
##### 3. Recognize your own special plight
Job turns his eyes to himself (v. 3b).
Since Job's current suffering was a practical experience, I see that it is enough to make you feel the sorrow and emptiness of life without developing a logical theory. Today, we can all suffer and suffer from unexpected disasters such as a major illness or a car accident, even if it is not the same suffering as Job. It is only after experiencing these difficulties that I see people clinging to God. However, a person who is deeply aware of the futility and preciousness of life and prepares with faith at the same time is a blessed person.
// Someone was walking down the street and saw a strange procession. Several herds of cattle followed the herder. I was curious too, so I decided to follow that path and followed him. But after following it for a while, to my surprise, isn't the sheepman dragging the cows to the slaughterhouse? Yes, I asked the hunter.
"Honey, what skill did you have to drive so many cows here safely?"
The man replied, 'I have a basket of boiled beans. So if you drop the beans after a while, and then drop them after a while, these cows will follow you all the way here because they are so busy eating them.'
If you don't know if life is the way to die, and you go forward looking for only food, then unfortunate things are waiting for you.
So the Apostle James said, ?쏻hat is your life? You are a mist that appears for a moment and then vanishes.??James 4:4 says.
Dear saints!
In order to overcome any hardship or difficulty without fear, it is necessary to have the wisdom to see the dark reality of life. By thoroughly realizing the finiteness and futility of human beings, we must understand that the world is in need of God's grace and power.
And because of the pain, I can't sleep and wake up with my eyes open. (4) We should pray for people like Job who are in pain. Such a person will always have God's abundant riches, and he will have a beautiful life sharing the blessings he has received with his neighbors.
I bless you in the name of the Lord for such a life.
