Title: Life is a Marathon
Text/ 2 Timothy 4:6-8
1. Introduction
2. Study 2 Timothy 4:6
“I have already been poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.”
Here, <offer> is <spendomai> in Greek and <a drink offering> in English, which means holy wine poured over the sacrifice when a sacrifice is placed on the burnt offering and offered to God.
3. Study 2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, verse 7”
4. What is the message of the text?
second. The apostle Paul kept the faith that his way was right, the faith that the way he was going was a mission given by God, and the faith that did not doubt the truth of the cross of Jesus Christ to the end. Do you really believe that the <way to run> is the path God has given you?
third. The apostle Paul finished his race. In 2 Corinthians 11:23-29, we can see how much the apostle Paul suffered while on his way. Despite all the hardships, the apostle Paul completed his <way to run>. Even in <The Road to Run>, there are hardships that I cannot describe.
5. Our <Road to Run> is a marathon in the true sense of the word
The marathon race commemorates a soldier with a strong sense of duty who ran 42.3km from Marathon to Athens to deliver <Victory of the Fatherland!> and died. The most central idea of the marathon race is <running 42.3 km to the end>. No matter how well you run at the beginning, the middle and the end of 42km, it doesn't matter. No matter how late you are at the beginning, the middle, or the end, a marathon becomes a marathon only when you have completed 42.3 km.
In this sense, our <Road to Run> is a marathon. Do you think it's too late in the beginning? It's already halfway, and you're nervous about what to do? Oh, do I despair, saying it's too late at the latest? It's not too late yet. It's still fine. It is our Heavenly Father who welcomes those who come in at 6pm.
6. Closing story
How many backs are the core of a marathon? is not Are you done running? Couldn't you finish it? depends on The parable of the talents speaks for itself. The master's praise to the servant who had received five and two talents was not wrong.
The joy of those who have completed <The Road to Run> is only known to those who have completed <The Road to Run>. Do you think the joy of the person who finished last in the marathon is different from the joy of the person who finished first? Then it is clear that such a person has no ears to hear. I hope that we can all enjoy the blessing of finishing the <Road to Run>.
