Title: Life of Resurrection/Matthew 28:1~10
Content I know that the word “resurrection” is not unfamiliar to us.
I know that the new generation of today may not have heard of the term hatchery, but in the past, almost every town had a hatchery, and you could see many of them hatching chicks or ducks.
The thing called 'egg' seems lifeless and has no shape or form, but you can see it being born into a pretty chick.
In fact, it is very difficult to accept this fact because the resurrection does not mean waking up from sleep but rising from the dead.
Even though the women mentioned in today's text have said that the Lord will rise from the dead, they are coming to the tomb with myrrh and spices at dawn on the third day after the Lord has died.
The items they are bringing to the tomb that dawn were never prepared to welcome the risen Lord.
They are coming for the death of the Lord they loved. Did they forget the word of the Lord or did they not believe it?
Those who did not believe in the Lord's resurrection were not the only women who visited the tomb at dawn. Even the disciples of Jesus did not believe in the resurrection.
Therefore, they sometimes left Jerusalem to pursue their livelihood, and they were hiding in a closet in despair.
If they had believed in the Lord's resurrection, there would have been no reason for them to do so.
The Apostle Paul said to those who doubted the resurrection, “You fool, unless the seed dies, your sowing will not come to life; and what you sow is not sowing in a future form, but only grains of wheat or other things, but God He gives the body to him as he wills, but he gives the body to each seed” (1 Corinthians 15:36-38), explaining how the resurrection event can happen through the principles of nature.
It was because there were hardships that were remembered for the past week until I could taste the glory and joy of the resurrection today.
Without the event of death called suffering, there could be no resurrection.
Even among all of you who are sitting here today, if you have spent the Holy Week faithfully thinking of the suffering of the Lord during the Holy Week, I think the joy of celebrating Easter Sunday today will be fuller.
Even in our faith, there should be no foolishness to think only of the glory of the resurrection without suffering.
How can there be a resurrection of life where there is no death?
If we want to gain the life of eternal resurrection in the future, we must keep in mind that we must die on this earth and live a dead life even further.
Now, let's think about the resurrection life that we want to think about today.
Resurrection life can be said to be a life of power in one word. It is the power to overcome death, so what can that power compare?
The power and power of this resurrection are being shown so that our bodies can realize it at the dawn of the day when Jesus was resurrected.
There was an earthquake in the parched land, and the ground cracked and shook. The stone was rolled by a powerful force. Doesn't the Bible record that the 16 poor soldiers who were guarding the tomb became contemplative and trembled and became like the dead?
These were the phenomena that appeared at the dawn of the day when he overcame death and was resurrected, but these facts are very powerful and powerful images of the resurrection compared to the stillness of death.
Today's appearance will be a moment of glorious power that can be seen by those who will be resurrected from the dead and enter the Lord's kingdom, but it will be the life that is currently being given to the saints who believe and follow the Lord of resurrection on this earth. .
Christianity is sometimes referred to as the “religion of the resurrection”, but today I would like to think about this life with the power of resurrection in five ways with you.
The first is a life full of joy.
Nothing surprises people or makes people more happy than that the dead have come back to life.
With unspeakable sorrow and mourning over the loss of a loved one, the three women come to the grave in the early morning light.
Their sorrow was so great that they woke up the dawn without regard to the fear of darkness.
The night was too long to wait for all their sorrows, so they got up early in the morning and set out to find the grave.
Although Jesus was dead, it seemed that their sorrows could be comforted even a little by applying some perfume on his body.
What a joy it must have been to see Jesus resurrected to them!
After experiencing the power and authority of the resurrection, what kind of darkness must have remained in their hearts and there must have been sorrow?
If there is a reason why our worship should be held in a joyful and festive atmosphere, it is because the power of the resurrection has guided our lives.
Consider a person who has been sentenced to death in a hospital. Days later, he went back to the hospital and after being re-diagnosed, the doctor said to him, "Your disease is cured. You no longer have to worry about death." Let's say you said this.
What could take away that person's joy? Could the problems he has now bother him? Whether the matter is material or honor. I saved my life.
We can understand the Lord's word to always rejoice by living with such assurance of resurrection.
When we have joy in the Lord, we can say that we are living the life of resurrection.
Second, a life of thanksgiving is a life of resurrection.
Of the gifts we receive on this earth, what greater gift than to be given to us by the resurrection of the dead?
How can I express my gratitude to these women who were grieving over the loss of their beloved teacher?
The greatest gift to us will be the gift of overcoming death.
On this Easter, Jesus became the first fruits of the resurrection and became the eternal gift of God to our lives.
Not only that, it teaches us that we who believe in the Lord have risen from the dead, so we can't help but be thankful.
A family in Nain had great sorrow. A lonely woman believed in her only son. But one day, the son suddenly died. What can comfort this woman's despair and sorrow?
Jesus, who was just passing through the city, stopped the funeral procession, opened the coffin, and said, "Young man, get up!" When he shouted, the young man jumped up.
What greater gift could this woman have than this? What greater gratitude could this woman have than this?
Martha and Mary depended on their brother, Lazarus, to live. After losing their parents early, they depended on their older brother like their parents. Such an older brother had to die unexpectedly.
Their sorrow was so great that Jesus wept and the large crowd of Jews who watched them wept.
The Lord went to the tomb of Lazarus four days after he died and told him to move the door and said, “Lazarus, come out.” When he called out, Lazarus came out on foot.
Resurrection is the resurrection of the dead.
If we are convinced of this resurrection in the Lord this Easter, won't our gratitude lead to the power of faith to be thankful for everything?
If we have lost gratitude, let's make it a time to give thanks again in the thrill of resurrection.
Third, being full of hope is a life of resurrection.
Since the biggest problem of death has been solved, how can we not have hope?
A scientist named Michael Faraday came to a small town in Switzerland while traveling on continental Europe.
In front of the village was a beautifully decorated cemetery.
As Michael looked through the graveyards, his eyes stopped at a shabby graveyard. The gravestone was neither bronze nor stone tablets, as if it belonged to a poor man. Tombstones were made by writing paper on wooden boards. I made an eaves so that the paper wouldn't get wet in the rain.
Not only did the paper on the eaves not get hit by the rain, but Wedges had built a house under the eaves and were living there.
The moment this Michael was looking, the wedge had become a butterfly and had just flew away.
Scientist Michael Faraday, who was looking at this scene, was engulfed in the thrill of the resurrection.
He was thrilled with the hope that 'even that humble insect turns into a butterfly and flies away, and God will change me and make me resurrected.'
The way has been opened for us to live forever, so let's live in hope.
Fourth, the life of comfort, love, and service is the life of resurrection.
The Lord has risen to comfort these grieving women and the trembling disciples in despair.
The resurrected Jesus was the disciples who betrayed him and left, but he loved them and came back to them.
The Lord's resurrection itself was the eternal comfort and service of mankind.
The thrill of resurrection is truly opening your eyes to love for your neighbor.
People say, "If you save me this time, I will do well." There will be times when there will be a earnest confession that, if I am convinced that I, who was dead, has come back to life, I will try to live the rest of my life in a good way.
Everyone who has been resurrected in Jesus will now live a life of striving to live for others. Because the former self is already dead.
In a house, two beautiful ceramics are carefully placed in a glass box.
A customer said, "You seem to be very fond of this pottery." and asked to sell. However, the person tells the story about the pottery, saying that it cannot be sold.
As he passed the manure pile, it was said that the pile of dirt was left next to the manure pile. He gave the clay and started making pottery, and it is the pottery you see now.
One day he looked at the pottery and suddenly thought of it. That he himself had a life of debauchery and wretchedness, like dirt thrown away in a manure heap in his past life.
Thinking that he was transformed like a beautiful porcelain in Jesus, many people asked him to sell the porcelain, but he never sold it.
At the same time, he was determined to work harder to become a person who is valuable to his neighbors.
Therefore, he always wanted to live with love for his neighbor, and he came to strive to live a life of comfort and service.
Shouldn't this be the reward for the Lord who saved us and renewed us?
Fifth, the life of overcoming is the life of resurrection.
In fact, there is nothing stronger than the victory over death.
Isn't it the problem of overcoming death that cannot be done by human strength? Now we have conquered death. Now that I have overcome the biggest things, shouldn't it become a life that overcomes the little things in my life?
Just as an earthquake splits the ground and rolls stones, let us overcome any obstacles and move forward.
Even the mighty Roman soldiers become fearful and contemplative and become like the dead, so let us overcome the swords, dangers, famines, and various trials that afflict us as if nothing.
The true life of resurrection is a life of victory.
It is a life that rules and conquers even death.
On this Easter today, this victorious life must be given along with the resurrection life.
Since the day we overcame death is Easter, He allows us to overcome anything even now and rejoices in those who overcome, and we should know that those who overcome will overcome death and live in the eternal kingdom.
