Life on the path of discipleship (Matthew 28:19-20)
Introduction: The reason the Christian life today cannot go from the path of salvation to the path of discipleship is because it is human-centered faith. The right way of salvation is the way of becoming a disciple and the way of life that glorifies God.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)
Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for sure, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36).
First, a disciple of Jesus must receive .
Baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19b)
Paul said, "Then what baptism did you receive?" He answered, "John's baptism." Paul said, "John baptized with repentance, and said to the people, (Acts 19:3-4a)
I baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:8).
When they heard it, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Paul laid his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied, all about twelve.
They praised God and received praise from all the people, and the Lord added to the number of those who were being saved day by day (Acts 2:47).
Second, a disciple of Jesus glorifies God as .
Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
“entelomai” (verb): “to command” = “entolay” (noun) “commandment”
Jesus said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).
All who believed were together, and all things were in common (Acts 2:44).
All the believers were of one mind and one mind, and all things were in common, and none of them claimed any of their possessions as their own (Acts 4:32).
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)
Finally, the disciples of Jesus are those of God.
Enoch walked with God, and he was not in the world, because God took him (Genesis 5:24).
Methuselah: “man of dart”
l I am not afraid.
Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, yea, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
n tells you not to be afraid.
I say to you, do not be afraid of them (Deuteronomy 1:29)
n tells you not to be afraid.
The LORD will go before you and be with you; he will never leave you or forsake you. Fear not, do not be dismayed (Deuteronomy 31:8).
n tells you not to be afraid.
And the LORD said to him, "Take heart, do not be afraid, for you shall not die." (Isaiah 6:23)
n tells you not to be afraid.
Fear not what you are going to suffer, behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, to be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life (Revelation 2: 10)
Outgoing statement: Go from being saved to being a disciple. When we glorify God by living a life according to God's command through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we will experience that God is with us by dispelling the fears given to us in our lives. Do not remain a member of the church. Be a disciple.
