Title: Life with Living Water
Contents
▒▒▒ John 7:37-52
Today's text contains a precious message that Jesus solves our burning thirst. On the last day of the feast, Jesus stood in front of the temple in Jerusalem and said to the people who had gathered in front of the temple, “If you are thirsty, come to me. Whoever believes in me, out of your belly will flow living water.” Says. The time when Jesus spoke these words is expressed as the last day of the feast. The last day of the holiday is when you are full because you ate a lot of food. A time when you are no longer hungry or thirsty. To such people, Jesus is calling them, ye who are thirsty.
Ladies and gentlemen, in our absence, we lived as we did not exist. In fact, strictly speaking, Korea has enjoyed a good 10 years since the IMF. So far we have had a good holiday. But over the past week, we have been experiencing tremendous economic hardship. At the end of the holiday, the stock price was cut in half. We already ate and drank all the seafood during the holidays. When was Jesus really thirsty? that's what you asked. It is the fact that when we are hungry and poor, that time is when we are thirsty, but when we are even more thirsty, it is the end of the holiday. To all of us who are thirsty in times like these, come to me. Whoever believes in me, he says, out of your belly will flow rivers of living water. If we come to Jesus with anticipation, Jesus will provide for all our needs. As the saying goes, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), if you come to Jesus when you are weary and have a hard time, remember that Jesus will accept you and give us comfort and courage. .
Living water should flow. If you have received the living water, you must open the door so that the living water can flow. If you hold on to the bottled water, the bottled water will soon become stinky. The reason that Abraham became the source of blessing was because he shared the blessing God had given him without grasping it. The gospel spread because the apostles who received the Holy Spirit took the gospel and preached it everywhere. We need the living water of the gospel to flow through us.
Dear brothers and sisters, please open the door so that living water within us can flow to our neighbors. Each time the Lord will continue to make living water flow into our stomachs. One more important thing, I hope you never ignore God as a retired person. Even if we do not take God as king, God existed before we even existed. God is who he is. Today, Jesus is here whether we welcome it or not. Therefore, we never ignore Jesus and come before him and say, “Jesus, I am thirsty. I'm really thirsty. If we confess, “I firmly believe in Jesus as my Christ,” I believe that the Holy Spirit will fully work on us. We believe that rivers of living water will flow through us.
