Title "Lifetime Gratitude" (November 8)

Contents

lifelong gratitude

(Psalm 126:1-6)

(…) Let’s think about gratitude this morning. (…) First of all, I give thanks because I have received it. This is thanks to the successful business and recovery of health.(…) There is another gratitude that comes from realization. Abundance can also be a blessing. But the highest level of gratitude is in faith.

(1) Gratitude is a reinterpretation of suffering.

(…) Yesterday, the 10th graduation ceremony of Mapo Father’s School was held at our church. (…) There was a time for the husband to wash his wife’s feet. There were some people who were holding their husband's neck and weeping. Forgetting the pain of the past and giving thanks with tears. Those tears are tears of gratitude that the sorrows and pains of the past have become seeds.(…) Yes. Even in times of suffering, we must live a life of gratitude with tears. A heart that can be grateful even in times of suffering is a heart of gratitude for a lifetime.

(2) Gratitude is a reinterpretation of joy.

(…) The poet sang, “We are glad that God has done great things for us.” Rather than the joy of being freed from the pain and pressure of captivity, I rejoice in the fact that God has given me and my people great grace. We have different perspectives on happiness. It's not that I'm happy because of the good conditions I've had, but that I am filled with joy when I think of the God of love and grace who continues to work on me.(…) My centered view of happiness changes depending on the conditions. However, happiness and joy centered on God are the basis for thanksgiving and praise in any environment. You will be grateful for the rest of your life.(…)

This is a reinterpretation of gratitude.

(…) The poet reinterprets the meaning of thanksgiving to God. Although the captives of Israel returned to Jerusalem, it became a land of ruins and ruins. There, hard work and hardship await. Destroyed temples and walls must be rebuilt.(…) But the poet sang, “God, bring our captives back as the riverbed of the Negev returns.” is a barren stream. It is a song of faith that the power of God to revive dead rivers and to sow seeds is before us. The poet's gratitude is the discovery of faith that rejoices in hope.(…)

The poet sings a song of gratitude for all things and a lifetime of gratitude because God always works yesterday, today, and in the future. Gratitude is not about giving thanks centered on yourself, but about rejoicing while looking at what God is doing. Amen.
