Title: Light in Darkness
Contents Psalm 112 was written by a poet comparing the lives of the righteous and the wicked. Blessed saints! Loving our neighbor is closely linked to loving God. Although it cannot be said that love of neighbor is love of God, those who truly love God will love their fellow human beings (neighbors). Love is sharing. Isn't love expressed through the sharing of material things, the sharing of faith, and the sharing of grace? A blessed life is a life in which sharing is abundant. His foundation is solid, and his name will be remembered before God.
First, the poet declares true blessing (Psalm 112:1).
The righteous will bless their descendants (Psalm 112:1). Although godliness is not always inherited, the life and faith of the righteous greatly influence their children. Although the saints long for the eternal blessings of heaven rather than the temporary blessings of this world, the righteous taste God's grace in this world as well (Psalm 112:3). Even in darkness, the righteous experience God's love (Psalm 112:4).
Second, the poet shows the sharing life of the righteous (Psalm 112:5,9).
The righteous do not pass by those in need (Psalm 112:5). He provides what the needy needs (Psalm 112:9). The wicked are restless when they see the blessed life of the righteous (Psalm 112:10). They disappear as they grind their teeth. What they hoped for disappears like smoke. But the righteous are not afraid of bad news (Psalm 112:7). He trusts God with a strong heart.
Dear saint! The only way to enjoy the word of God is to obey it. The only way to taste the joy of love is to love your neighbor specifically. The poet saw the lives of the righteous and their descendants, and also witnessed the end that God gave them. The poet teaches that the life of giving and giving is the richest life. So let's try a little practice of love. -Amen-
