Title: Light of Life (John 01:1-5)
Contents Like the character of John, who is called the son of thunder, the beginning of the Gospel of John is like thunder. As with this declaration, one day the Lord came to this earth, breaking our decaying old habits. He came while we were still sinners before we even found them. In this short verse 1, the word “Word” appears three times, repeatedly emphasizing that the “Word” existed by itself. In other words, He created a place and a time for Himself that was neither built nor moved.
(1) Preexistence and eternity of the Word: When will the Lord come first?
Shock.
Thanks.
...... The word here is not meant to be a chatty talker.
(2) Personality: He was with God.
He was among sinners, but he was never a sinner.
(3) It reveals divinity equal to God.
It means the Trinity.
The content is completely the same.
He was with God in the beginning
Verse 2 emphasizes that “He alone was with God.” It clearly shows the state of close and close union with God. Together with the perfect divinity of Jesus Christ, it shows the complete picture of the saint's sanctification and salvation. It is one aspect of knowing and believing that come together to reach the perfect measure of Christ. Live with this hope. We must live while envisioning the day when our encounter with God, which was as faint as seeing in a mirror, will meet face to face.
All things were made through him
nothing built
Without him nothing has come to pass
there was life in it
This life is the light of men
light shines in darkness
The darkness did not understand
It is verses 3-5 that proclaim that all things began with him. Verse 4 deals with the innocent man, and verse 5 shows the sinful man. And it is sometimes seen as a passage that denies the theory of evolution spoken of in the past. It is not that all things evolve and gradually change, but that they have already been completely built according to the properties and types of all things. Nothing develops on its own, only through the breath of God's perfect creation.
The world that does not receive the Lord who has come as the light of life is called “darkness” in this Word. As if we had given up and lived in darkness as our natural environment before there was light, it is compared to living while accepting as fate the harsh and discouraged state before Jesus came. From these words, we can see that no one has to live without Jesus, and he has no choice but to trap himself in darkness.
