Title: Living Water and Worship
Contents
In John 3, Nicodemus, the ruler of the Jews, and the Samaritan woman had in common that they were those who needed Jesus the most.
He taught Nicodemus that being born again is not a work of man but a work of God, and that one can be born again when one believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he has sent.
And the Samaritan woman whom Jesus met was also in desperate need of Jesus Christ.
1. Go to Samaria
Samaria is a region located in the middle of the road from Judea to northern Galilee, and was originally allocated to the tribe of Manasseh when the 12 tribes of Israel received the land of Canaan.
However, the name Samaria was changed to mean that when northern Israel was destroyed by Assyria in 720 B.C., people from other countries were immigrated to marry the people left behind, so that the descendants that were created.
Thus, the Jews, who boasted that they had inherited David's pure blood, refused to approach the Samaritans, who were of mixed race.
2. Compassion
Jesus breaks the custom and speaks to the woman and also to the Samaritan.
It was because of the mercy of the Lord. It was because of the mercy of the Lord. The Lord already knew everything about this woman. Nevertheless, Jesus does not condemn this woman. He does not curse her for her deeds. Rather, he felt sorry for him. He was merciful.
3. Teaching Living Water and True Worship
The thirst of the soul can be satisfied only with the living water that the Lord gives. This living water comes from Jesus Christ. This Samaritan woman desperately needed the merciful Lord Jesus Christ who could give her the fountain of eternal life. Eventually, this woman began to recognize Jesus as a prophet. The Lord then forces her to raise the question of where God deserves to be worshiped, one of the most important disputes between Samaritans and Jews: there is now a new center of worship that is not held in one place. It is worship offered in Jesus.
Worshiping in spirit refers to worshiping in the purest, purest, and purest form of our nature, and true worship refers to worshiping with all our hearts. And the reason we should worship like this is because God is a Spirit.
Therefore, our worship today must be offered as true worship. You must realize and know the goodness, mercy, graciousness, long-suffering, and love of God, and bow down with your soul with a heart to honor God. Just because you attend according to the order without thinking, it does not constitute a worship service. In order to become a more in-depth faith and worship offered before God, I want you to know more about God.
