Title: Living Promise
Contents Through Pday 517, we are looking forward to spiritual revival. Revival is a return to Pentecost. Because revival is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Andrew Murray said, "If the church returns to Pentecost, Pentecost will return to the church." As Spurgeon said, “Pentecost, should it be a mere tradition? There is no reason why we should not experience a Pentecost greater than the Pentecost that Peter experienced.” As Lloyd-Jones said, “The revival is a return to the old well, the day of Pentecost. The incident of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost continues today.” Therefore, any revival can only be properly grasped in the panorama of action that the book of Acts presents.
Today's text is the promise of Jesus. This promise is the starting point of the book of Acts. Everything in the book of Acts is the result of this promise. Without this promise, the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost would not have occurred. Without this promise, we cannot have hope of spiritual revival, and prayer for Happy Day 517 is a waste of time. So Jesus first gave the promise, and then the disciples prayed. This is the only possible case. Therefore, we should pay close attention to this promise.
1. Jesus' promise is also a promise to us.
2. Jesus' promise contains everything for revival.
What exactly does Jesus' promise imply? In fact, the promise of Jesus itself is very simple. However, if you look at the book of Acts, which records the fulfillment of this promise, it has tremendous content. May you understand clearly and receive all the blessings of this promise.
