Sermons for Preaching

Title: Living together / Genesis 39:1-6

Contents

1. Jesus said to us, "You are the salt and light of the world."

2. To become salt and light means to walk with Jesus.

3. As the salt of the world, am I not ashamed of myself as a believer? Are you really playing the role of light?

4. To become salt and light, a procedure is necessary. First, we must “walk with the Lord”. A South American pastor named Juan Carlos became famous for his book "Are You With the Lord?" Here is a man who walked with the Lord.

I. Joseph lived with God (1-2).

A. Human Joseph

1. He was already born as the eleventh son to a family of ten. But his father and mother were very loving people.

2. To his father, Joseph's existence was a son that was not worth exchanging for the ten sons already born.

3. Of course, his father favored Joseph. That was the problem. So his brothers were always displeased with Joseph.

4. For this reason, Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers without his parents' knowledge.

5. Now Joseph became a slave and was sold to the Egyptian Potiphar's house.

B. God was always with Joseph.

1. It may be difficult for us to quickly understand that Joseph walked with God. In simple terms, you can ask, "If he really walked with God, why did God allow him to be sold into the hands of his brothers?" However, the question is soon resolved.

2. Even though Joseph was sold by his brothers, the house he went to was not a house of ceremonies. Among the numerous houses, God sent Joseph to the house of Potiphar, who was in charge of the king's bodyguard.

3. We come to realize the maxim of "telephone viciousness" through this day. God sent Joseph to the house of Potiphar the Egyptian to fulfill His will.

4. If we only see the course of God's work, we become frivolous. In our lives, we will go through countless things similar to Joseph's. How did we react when faced with such a situation?

1) Did you give thanks while thinking of God?

2) Have you ever been driven by the domination of your emotions and acted freely? So, didn't you feel resentful, complaining, and annoyed? If you have had such an experience, you must repent to God.

5. There is no way to know how deep Joseph was of faith. However, it can be inferred that he would have dealt with the crisis of his life wisely without much disturbance.

1) These days, there are a lot of people in the Seoul detention center. There are former ministers, there are parliamentarians, and there are high prosecutors. giants among giants

Otherwise, most of them suffer from neurological anxiety symptoms.

3) Compared to their splendid career, the detention center is probably because it is a scene of disgrace.

4) Joseph overcame everything without any agitation. He was also the father of the twelve sons.

Isn't he the owner of a splendid career that dominated Lang? Nevertheless, it is probably because of his faith that he was able to adapt to everything.

5. In addition, God upheld Joseph so that good luck would follow him in whatever he did.

II. Joseph's master knew God's walk (3-4).

A. I found out that my luck was because of Joseph.

1. Originally, Potiphar was a person who did not know God. He was a worshiper of Egyptian idols. Only he would have known that the Hebrews were serving Jehovah.

2. In most cases, if the pagans differ from their own beliefs, they use force to ignore the other's religion and try to make fun of them. But in the case of Bodibal, it seems a little different.

3. Since God is in control of everything, there is no error. God Himself guided everything. So even Potiphar's heart was moved.

4. The heart is important. Negative people try to deny good things, no matter how good they are. Potiphar's heart is filled with positive thoughts because of the work of the Holy Spirit.

B. Appointed Joseph as custodian.

1. As we know, a famous prosecutor owned a fortune of 10 billion won. However, he reported that his fortune was about 900 million won. Everything else was left to the property manager.

2. People are still unbelievable, but how trustworthy would they have been if they had entrusted them with managing their assets? It is never easy.

3. Wealth is not to be entrusted to anyone. You can become a property manager only when you are sure that it is true. God grants particularly abundant material resources to those who are entrusted with it. However, at first, some people manage their master's property with allegiance and sincerity. However, as time passes, there are people who use it as they please without distinguishing whether it belongs to the owner or not.

4. It is not something to brag about having a lot of material. It is important to manage the entrusted property with the utmost sincerity and stewardship. None of what we have is ours. Everything belongs to the Lord God. Therefore, the attitude of the saint toward material things should always be that of a steward.

5. God did not give us much to waste. It was given to me to use it when I needed it. Therefore, we who are in charge of the material should use the material wisely with the attitude of stewards working for the master, and become more and more trustworthy managers by the master.

III. The master was blessed because of Joseph (5-6).

A. He blessed his master for Joseph.

1. God protected and accompanied Joseph, who had been sold by his brothers. And he led him to meet a master named Potiphar. Moreover, he made Potiphar, a pagan, aware that the Lord was with his servant Joseph.

2. When the master trusted Joseph and entrusted his property to him, God finally blessed Potiphar for Joseph. The important thing is that the blessing did not come from the beginning, but after Potiphar left everything to Joseph.

3. God's blessings spread evenly across the family, the things in the fields, and even the treasures in the house.

the fact that it swung.

4. Potiphar became very rich because of one slave named Joseph. God works together like this

rejoice in doing good.

B. God blesses us too.

1. God created a wind of reform in this corrupt country. Not just because the president is an elder, but because of one wise political leader, the chain of corruption that has been going on for decades is breaking.

2. According to foreign reports, the president of Korea emphasizes that he is a Christian. In other words, it is introduced that corruption is eradicated in the spirit of Christianity. The power of a single Christian is realizing how great it is.

3. If all ten million saints on this earth work together as one heart and work for the glory of God, this country will be a happy country.

4. How many people are really happy because of me? Or maybe more people suffer because of me?

conclusion

1. A man who walks with God God received great glory through Joseph.

2. When I walk with God, God is glorified through me.

3. Because of Joseph, the owner was also blessed. God sustains this corrupt country because there are saints like Joseph. If possible, let everyone like Joseph be virtuous because of me, not pigs.
