Seol 1205 Life with God 12.1.29 (4 weeks after Epiphany)
Psalm 15:1-5
The tabernacle of God is where the ark of God was located before the temple of God was built. The temple was built by King Solomon son of David.
The Holy Mountain refers to Mount Zion and is the nickname of Jerusalem from the time the ark of God was enshrined in Jerusalem. Because Jerusalem was built on Mount Zion. King David brought the ark of God to Jerusalem. Zechariah 8:3 says, “This is what the LORD says: I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem will be called the city of truth, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts will be called the holy mountain.”
I. Who dwells in the tent of God, and who dwells in the holy mountain of the Lord?
This means who will live in the house of God and who will walk in the garden of God.
1. Those who live in God's house are God's children.
They are God's family.
Becoming a member of the family of God is through grace through faith, faith in Jesus, salvation, and becoming a child of God. That is why God is called Father.
A child of God is a person who uses a credit card called prayer, has a treasure map of the Word guaranteed by God, and lives under the protection of angels and the Holy Spirit for safety.
2. They are God's people.
They are the people who have the privilege of walking in God's garden, the holy mountain, to commune with God and to find rest.
The privilege of God's people is that God sets them apart from the world and guides and protects them to the kingdom of heaven.
3. They are the ones who receive the protection and blessing of God.
God is closely guarding to protect His children and people. That is the relationship and companionship of the union.
Unity is maintaining a special relationship in which God is in the saints and the saints are in God.
Accompaniment is God's moving into unity with the saints.
Therefore, the saints are not alone when they are alone, and they are not lonely even in a secluded place.
These privileges belong to God's family and people.
Ⅱ. How should people with God live?
What is life like with God?
First, let's talk about active virtue.
1. He is an honest person.
Honesty means innocence without lies, and a person who pursues a goal in which thoughts and actions are consistent.
He is a person who always thinks that God is with him and does not have a double heart.
Honesty is being faithful to one's conscience and hating hypocrisy.
Those who live in this way are regarded by God as children and as people.
2. A person who practices justice.
Justice is one who does the will of God. A person who works righteousness according to faith. Always a fair person He is a person who does not discriminate against people and respects human dignity.
Turner, a painter and academy judge, was with his colleagues displaying paintings in an exhibition hall. Then a painting called “Bird” arrived from an unknown country painter. Seeing this, Turner admired it and said, "Oh, it's a good painting, but it must be exhibited." However, since there was already no space to hang any more paintings in the exhibition hall, the other judges vehemently refused, saying, “It is impossible, I cannot move the placed paintings again.”
Knowing that his colleagues were as stubborn as he was, Turner removed one of his paintings and hung in its place a work called "Bird" by an unknown artist.
Turner respected the obscure artist without discrimination.
This is the practice of justice.
3. A person who speaks the truth. The truth is that the inner life and the outer life coincide. The truth is one inside and one outside.
When people say that they are untrustworthy, it means that they are different on the outside and inside.
Or it means that words and actions are different.
God is with genuine people.
4. He is a gentle person.
In meekness, strength and humility are in harmony. The intensity of Jesus chasing business people out of the temple, and the gentleness of laying his hands on the sick and healing them on the other hand.
The meek are upright toward the wicked. That is why he despises the ghost.
A profane person is proud of doing evil things. The root of pride is a person who wants to live without God.
The meek is one who honors those who fear the Lord. So, humble is A meek person is one who does not change even if what he vows in his heart is harmful.
passive virtue
1. He does not offend others with his tongue.
This kind of act is called accusation, and it refers to going here and there and hurting people with words. Those with God should speak as carefully as possible to reduce mistakes in speech. So, be careful not to say anything that hurts others.
2. He does not do evil to his neighbor.
You must not harm the honor, property, or happiness of your neighbors.
3. He was told not to slander his neighbor.
It is also called slander, and it includes slander, slander, insult, and gossip.
The speaker thinks easily, but the listener is greatly hurt.
4. You should not lend money to receive interest.
It means not to burden the poor for the purpose of interest.
Transactions should be made within the scope of social understanding, but should not be exploited.
5. He was told not to take bribes and harm the innocent.
Bribery makes the righteous a sinner and distorts the truth.
Bribery paralyzes the conscience.
Ⅲ. It is said that those who live according to the will of God will never be shaken.
Verse 5b “He who practices these things will never be shaken.”
1. Being shaken is a harbinger of disaster.
When an earthquake occurs or a volcano erupts, it is shaken first.
To be shaken is to become psychologically anxious or distrustful.
When it shakes, everything collapses or turns upside down. So it could be something entirely different.
When it shakes, everything falls and perishes.
2. Why can't we be shaken forever?
1). Because our relationship with God does not change, we do not waver.
Why can't there be things that God's people are not good at?
However, because God does not change and loves and gives grace, it will not be shaken.
A man came to stand before God in a dream. God asks, “Have you always been truthful?” “It was not.” “Have you always lived a clean life?” “It was not.” In answering this, he bowed his head and was not sure what to do.
Then a brilliant light shone and Jesus came to him and said, “Father, God, this man did not live purely, honestly, or honestly. But I lived by believing that I paid the price for my sins on the cross.” The moment he heard these words, he knelt down and said, “God, I want you to receive grace through your righteousness, not my own.”
It is by faith that we are saved, not works.
2). It is not shaken because God protects it.
Romans 8:35 says, “Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword.”
It is said that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.
Lessons learned and application
We become children of God through Jesus Christ by faith.
John 1:12 says, “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Therefore, we are God's family, dwelling in God's house and walking in God's holy mountain.
Because we are God's family, we must act honestly like a child of God, practice justice, and speak the truth.
Then he said that he will not be shaken forever.
I pray in the name of Jesus that all the saints will enjoy this blessing and live.
