Title: Little Flock (Luke 12:32-40)
Contents Dear brothers and sisters!
Through the text given to us today, we will discover the words of comfort that the Lord gives to all sincere believers.
Jesus knew the hearts of his disciples very well. The disciples were few, the enemies were many, and they were worried and worried because there were many difficulties in their way.
There was also a sense of inferiority. The Lord who understands all this has given us precious words of comfort. <Do not be afraid, little flock. It is pleasing to your Father to give you the kingdom.>
The saints were called “little flock.” Truly yes.
Since the beginning of time, few have believed. The same is true today.
There are many baptized believers, but few true believers. “For narrow is the gate and stray is the way that leads to life, and few find it” (Matthew 7:14).
But believers have a promised kingdom waiting for them.
Believers on this earth will often be ridiculed, despised, ridiculed, just as the Lord was.
However, we must never forget the fact that <the sufferings of the present are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us>.
“When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory” (Romans 8:18; Colossians 3:4).
God is pleased to give His kingdom to believers. God is never cold, stingy, or disgusting with believers.
God regards all who are in Christ as His Son. In spite of our shortcomings and weaknesses, He does not care, He loves us, and He delights in Him.
Dear saints,
Today, the Lord called the saints <a little flock>. What matters now is whether we belong to the little flock. Then there is nothing to fear.
Because God has given us precious and exceedingly great promises (2 Peter 1:4).
There are many who oppose us and there are many who hate us, but there is no need to be afraid because God, who is more powerful than them, is on our side.
Through the text, we hear the wonderful counsel to lay up treasures in heaven.
It did not end with these words, “Sell your possessions and give money, and make bags that do not wear out.” “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”
Saints!
What Are Your Treasures We are to be charitable and kind to all. You must give up anything that blocks the salvation of souls. You should spend more money to benefit others than for selfish purposes.
It is wise to do this. Not long ago, during the L.A. Black riots, I could see a shop that usually gave alms to black people, protecting their property with their protection. A wise person chooses <the good side that cannot be taken away>. It is something that comes by faith.
Dear saints,
We hope that this time will be a time to examine ourselves. Do you store up treasures in heaven or on earth What do we love the most?
What do you consider your most precious treasure? This is an important touchstone of faith.
What we love is more important than what kind of sermons we listen to or what kind of church we attend.
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”
We can see what the heart of a true believer should be through the word of the Lord. We must live like those who wait for the Lord.
Like a slave waiting for his master to return, he should live while fulfilling his duties, but not do what he does not want when the Lord returns.
The Lord does not require us to live like monks. It only demands repentance, faith, and a life of holiness. Those who live by faith in the Son of God cannot but be seen as those who live with a “loose back, sober,” and also those who “glow in the light”. The Lord speaks. <Be prepared, too. The Son of Man will come at an unexpected time>Are we living in preparation for the Second Coming now?
Frequently asking these questions in our conscience is the way to the good of faith.
If you do this, you will not be deceived by the word that the Lord will return on October 24, 1992, and even if the Lord comes at that time, there is no problem.
If we prepare for the day of the Lord's coming, we will be able to drive out the false life that tends to appear in our daily life.
A person who cannot confess, <Come, Lord Jesus> is a person whose spiritual condition is wrong.
Saints gathered to pray today!
I hope you belong to the <Little Flock>. Please have <a pocket that does not wear out>. I sincerely pray that you and I will become faithful to their duties, like servants waiting for their master to come, with a confession of faith, <Amen, Lord Jesus, come>. .
