Title: Little Fool (Ecclesiastes 10:1)
It is said that just as a dead fly stinks with perfume, so little foolishness can lead to defeat with wisdom and honor. 9:18 says that one sinner destroys many good.
1. A little leaven is spread over the whole mass.
In 1 Corinthians 5:6, he said, “Do you not know that a little leaven is spread over the whole lump?” In the Bible, leaven is usually used in a bad sense.
Jesus also said to be careful and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Matthew 16:6), I think the meaning of the words points to their sinful nature (pride, hypocrisy, and realism). Although the Corinthian church seems to have few sins of immorality (fornication, etc.), he warned that if left unattended, the church that had spread gradually would become infected with immorality.
2. Small crimes do big damage.
When the Israelite masses left Egypt and passed through the wilderness to enter the land of Canaan, their spiritual powers were exercised and they occupied the fortified city of Jericho without touching it. The cause was that only one man named Achan broke God's command and hid the spoils secretly, and as a result of his sin, the whole of Israel was defeated. The crime of one person causes great damage to the whole. In the end, Achan was taken to the Valley of Achor and ended up being stoned to death (Joshua 7:1-26). Ananias and Sapphira also suffered great damage due to their crimes during the revival of the early church.
3. Little fools will be defeated by wisdom and honor.
Solomon actively emphasized the lesson of wisdom, saying that a little foolishness will lead to defeat with wisdom and honor. In some cases, the rulers run a powerful dictatorship with little foolishness and lose power, and even intellectuals sometimes suffer irreparable shame and failure because their judgment is clouded for a moment due to little foolishness. Sometimes you lose water. There are even cases where life, which is more precious than the world, is lost due to little foolishness.
Even the word that says to always be awake is so that the devil does not use the small gaps in our hearts to invade us.
