This is the morning worship service on Wednesday, August 8th.
Proverbs 20:1-15 Longing for a consistent heart
* Today's text also shows us the precious wisdom of life and the stage of spiritual maturity. It may seem like a disconnected word that has little to do with each other, but in fact, it is the organic image of those who are wise before God.
But in order to carry out this inner battle, a consistent attitude of mind is required. It is because the inner world is broken down by mistake even after doing well 9 times, and the harms of those small disturbances and cracks are truly enormous. In verse 10, it says, “The LORD hates the weight of a scale that is not uniform, and everything that is not consistent.” Both scales and weights are tools for measuring weight and volume, and a consistent and unified unit is the life. If the unit of measurement is different in each province or if merchants change the weight and weight at their own will, the damage will be borne by the common people, and commerce will change anomalously. Countless examples of this can be found in real history, and it shows just how strong the sinful nature of human beings is that they do not want to use a uniform weight and a uniform weight.
Whether it comes from consistent consistency or a life adorned with instantaneous changes, we can tell by our actions and words. If you meditate on the inner world of man for a long time or think about the heart of God, you can understand this more easily. In verses 11 and 12, it is said, “Even a child, by his actions, shows whether his conduct is pure or upright,” and “both ears to hear and eyes to see are the work of the Lord.” Therefore, if the eyes and ears made by God can restore the image of creation and become clear and bright, then with those eyes and ears, we can discern whether our deeds are genuinely clean or genuinely honest.
I hope you will pray this morning to restore the shape of the eyes and ears that God created. So I hope we can quickly discover the inconsistencies and disobediences that keep coming up in our lives. I pray that you and I will remain faithful to the family, colleagues, seniors and juniors, and bosses I meet every day around me by restoring a consistent heart and attitude before God.
