Longing for God (Psalm 42:1-11)
When a rugby ball falls to the floor, no one knows where it will bounce.
No matter how well we prepare and do our best in our lives, no one knows what will happen if we go out into the field of life.
The world is becoming more and more diverse and complex, so no one can predict the future.
The new year has begun.
We start with a new heart and new hope, but we are also anxious because of worries and concerns.
But Almighty God, there is my Father.
We believe that God will be with us and will help and strengthen us.
Therefore, let's always watch and pray and seek God's grace and live.
King David said, “As a deer longs for streams, so my soul longs for the Lord.”
Since deer are very hot animals, they feel thirsty easily in hot and humid areas, so they howl to find a stream.
King David was betrayed by his son Absalom, and was deprived of his kingship and was in a pitiful condition to be pursued.
It is so painful and painful that it seeks God like a deer howling for a brook,
He longed for God's grace and prayed.
Unexpected difficulties and adversity come to everyone.
But if you always seek God, long for God's grace, and pray,
God bless you and guide you on the path to victory.
God is alive.
The Eternal One who was, is, and will live tomorrow and forever.
God is the source of life who created the world.
He is the one who makes me breathe and controls life and death.
He raises the dead and gives eternal life.
God is the Rock.
If you build a house on a large rock, it will not collapse even when the wind blows and floods occur.
God is the strong foundation stone of my life.
If God is with you, certain hardships and adversity will come and you will never fall.
God is omnipotent.
God is the Father who helps me.
Only God can help me all my life forever.
Psalm 121:1-2, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where will my help come from?
My help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth.”
King David did not despair in the midst of hardship and adversity
It was only because he longed for God that he endured to the end and was victorious.
Those whom God loves are always in a position to seek grace.
Sickness, poverty, and failure are not necessarily unhappiness.
Rather, it is God's blessing if it makes you yearn for God.
God makes Himself empty through much suffering.
With a poor heart, a humble heart, and an empty heart, He makes us thirsty for God and longs for Him.
Just as a fish is caught in an empty net and water pools in a valley.
God fills the hungry soul longing for God with the grace of the kingdom of heaven that never thirsts.
“Why are you discouraged, my soul, and why are you troubled within me?
You hope in God, and I will rather praise my God, who helps my face.”
