Title: Look at the Cross

Title: Look to the Cross (1 Corinthians 1:18-31)

Hebrews 12:2 “Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Heb 3:1 Consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest

The cross is power. The cross is an expression of God's wonderful love. When He took up this cross, God first suffered great pain, but Father ignored him. So, when the Lord was also crucified, Father, why did you forsake me? Eli, Eli, Lama, Sabachthani. This is my God, my God, and he cried out, “Why hast thou forsaken me?”

This suffering cross is God's great love. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” The cross is the love of all mankind.

But the people of the world do not realize this love and are wandering and going down the road of destruction.

18 “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.”

The people of the world criticized, ridiculed, and only viewed Jesus crucified as foolish.

The Roman soldiers mocked him, saying, “Peace be with you, King of the Jews.” They spit on him, took a reed and struck him on the head. Those who passed by shook their heads, insulting Jesus, and the robbers who were crucified. Likewise, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who have perished.

The cross was a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. That is why God said in the text that he will destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing the understanding of the wise.

Where is the wise? Where is the scholar? Where are the rhetoricians in this generation? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? God has made foolish the wisdom of the world.

Who has been saved by the wisdom of the world? Power, fame, and money have all perished and are on the way to destruction.

However, God has allowed the power of God to come upon us who are being saved through the cross.

“He was pleased to save those who believed by the foolishness of preaching.”

(verse 21) Says.

But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God (verse 24).

The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (v.

Therefore, I hope that even fools will realize that you are wiser and more blessed than those who did not believe in Jesus.

27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose the lowly things of the world, and despised things, and things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are.

Please believe that the cross alone is our salvation and power. Nicolaus Zinzendorf (1700-1760) was a Christian who led the pietism movement in Germany in the 18th century. When his soul was wandering in his youth, a picture of Dominico Petti (look at this man) caught his eye. There was the cross of the Lord, and the cross was buried like this

“I bore this cross for you. What have you done to me? Zinzendorf's heart warmed, and tears of emotion wet his cheeks. “I have done nothing for the Lord. From now on, I will only follow the cross.

He began to dream of the cross. Zinzendorf abandoned his government office and set out to become a refuge for persecuted Christians. He created the Hernhut community with the meaning of being a place the Lord protects, and devoted himself to living a godly life and missionary activities. The missionary movement of the Moravian Church was the fruit of Zinzendorf's love for the cross and dreams.

That's right. Let us look to the cross and proceed.

The Apostle Paul was the greatest elite in Jewish society. He was a Jew among Jews who was born in Tarsus, Cilicia. He was a member of Gamaliel's culture and had a strict law education. He was born with Roman citizenship. However, since he met Jesus, he threw away all these things like dung and went out looking to the cross. He preached the gospel to Asia and Europe, and finally went to Rome to preach the gospel and was martyred.

When Peter, a fisherman with a quick temper, cried out, 3,000 people repented and healed many sick people. David, a small boy, was a man of miracles who defeated the six-foot general Goliath with a slingshot with a slingshot in the name of the Lord.

They weren't perfect from the start.

This is because the power of God came into life and changed.

It was because he looked at the cross and went forward.

In Egypt, the children of the Gobtic Church have cross tattoos on their wrists when they are born, so that they can look at the cross and proceed. That is why, even in places where Muslims are so prosperous, they are still keeping their faith and moving forward. This time tattoo the cross in your heart and look at the cross

So, I hope that the power of GOD will come to you and me and you who will live the powerful life of Christ.
