Title: Lord, Donkey, I/Matt 21:1-11
Content I. Unity from bondage (1-2)
Humanly, on the best day of Jesus' life, the donkey that carried Him on His back was ugly and worthless. The reason that these donkeys were able to share in the wonderful glory and blessings is that they are released from their bondage.
The donkey cannot be used just as it was tied up. It must first be released from the bond. As Jesus approached Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, He sent two disciples and said, “Go to the village opposite, and untie the tied donkey and its colt and bring it to me.”
In order for the Lord to use it, it must first be released from its ties like this donkey.
II. Be used by the Lord. (3-5)
Just because the donkey was released from its bond does not mean that it shares in the glory of the Lord. The reason that this donkey was able to share in the glory of the Lord was because it was used by the Lord.
Because they carried the Lord to enter Jerusalem, they received the hosanna praise and glory that Jesus received. This is how your life changes depending on who you use, that is, who rules and governs you. It determines the direction of life and the outcome of life.
Therefore, through this donkey, what we need to think about is that we need to know who is the one who rules and rules over me today.
III. Dedicate yourself right (6-11)
When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, his disciples put their cloaks on the donkey's back. That is, they replaced the saddle with their outer garments. Also, most of the crowd took off their cloaks and spread them on the way to Jesus.
Those without cloaks cut branches and spread them on the road. It is an expression of devotion to the Lord.
Just like the disciples and people who took off their cloaks and spread them generously along the way of the Lord, we should live a life of devotion to the Lord with the best we can do.
