Title: Lord, Save Us / Jeremiah 14:1-9
Content Lord, save us / Jeremiah 14:1-9
I. Introduction
1. When Israel suffered calamities due to a severe drought, God first told Jeremiah of the situation with a sorry heart (how did he come to such a hardship)
2. Then Jeremiah honestly admits that all such difficulties are due to the people's own sins, and confesses that the only one who can save them from the disaster is the Lord.
Ⅱ. Body
1. Jehovah speaks of calamities
(1) city people
① Every city is full of people dying of hunger (2)
②All the people of Jerusalem are crying out for help (2)
③ Even the rich can’t find water, so come back from the well with empty bowls and cover their faces in shame (3)
(2) rural people
① Because there is nothing to harvest, the farmers hide their faces in shame (4)
②Farmers look at the cracked paddy fields and sigh in despair (4)
- The rice paddy floor was cracked because it didn't rain a single drop for the whole year (4)
(3) The world of animals
① Doe: I abandoned the newly born young. It's because they can't find green grass to feed their chicks (5)
② Wild donkey: Originally a strong beast, but unable to find it thirsty, it is panting like a wild dog on a hill (8)
2. Jeremiah tells the people's groanings to the LORD
(1) confess their sins
① Our sins are condemning ourselves (7)
② Our sins are endlessly bearing witness against us that we deserve to be destroyed (7)

④ You have sinned against the Lord (7)
(2) Appeal to the Lord for salvation
① Save us so that your name will not be slandered (7)
②The Lord is Israel's only hope (8)
③When we are in need, only the Lord can save us (8)
(3) plead for salvation as if protesting to the Lord
①Why does the Lord regard our country the same as other nations?(8)
②Why does the Lord act like a stranger who stays overnight (8)
③Why does the Lord act as if he cannot save us?(9)
Ⅲ Concluding remarks
1. The Lord is the God of Israel who is still among us (9)
2. We are the Lord's people (9)
3. Do not forsake us (9)
1 The LORD brought the famine, and the reason was revealed to Jeremiah.
2"All the people of Judah have gathered at this gate and that gate, and the grass is weeping and weeping. I hear the people of Jerusalem sitting on the ground and crying.
The three-year-old family tries to get their servants to drink water, but even if they go from one well to another, the water is dry and the servants have no way to see their master, so they come back with an empty bottle and their heads down.
4 It doesn't rain anywhere in the whole country, and the land is split, and the farmers are terrified, and the ground is only sighing.
5 Wild deer have no grass for their young to eat, so they give birth and throw it away.
6 The mules stood on the hill, and gasping for breath like foxes, and their eyes were blurred because there was no grass to grazing.”
7"If we sin like that, how can we escape punishment? O LORD, shouldn't your name be reviled? We have betrayed you and have sinned against you.
8 You who believe in and hope for in Israel, who rescues Israel in times of need, why do you act like a stranger in this land? Do you act like Gilson who stopped by for overnight stay?
9Why did you suddenly become like a man who was struck in the back of the head? Have you become like a general who can't even save my country? O LORD, you are among us; are we not a people called by your name? So don't forsake us."
