Title: Love is Mercy

Contents

love is mercy

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 '4. Love is patient, love is gentle, does not envy, love does not boast, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not think evil, 6. does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth; 7. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things' - Amen.

There are 4 Greek words for love.

1) stovrgh - brotherhood, brotherhood

2) Eros (e[rw") - rational love between a man and a woman

3) filiva - ideological, friendship

4) Agape (ajgavph) - God's love, self-giving

If there is a word that is close to understanding love, it is considered compassion. Although the words for love and compassion are used separately in the Bible, the emotion is almost the same.

The word for mercy (ejleevw) is translated as mercy in the English Bible, but at the heart of it, it will mean compassion, that is, compassion and suffering together. With the title of <Love is Compassion>, I hope that we can understand God's love again and long for and keep that love that should be the center of our lives.

1. People's misconceptions about love

This 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians is also called the golden chapter of the New Testament and the love chapter. Even in the world of non-believers, love is a big topic in life and is becoming an essential part of life.

The Bible teaches the sources of everything necessary for understanding life and the process of living, and the proposition about love is taught well in 1 Corinthians 13.

First, in verses 1-3 at the beginning of this chapter, we point out misunderstandings about love.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3'1. Even though I speak in human tongues and angels, but without love, I become a sounding copper and a chirping horn. If I have all the faith I can have, but do not have love, I am nothing.

In verse 1, point out that love is not a word.

In verse 2, that it is not even a religious mystery,

In verse 3, it is said that simple devotion and service itself are not the truth of love.

2. True love is only possible by experiencing God's love

1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins.”

Love can be reflected because the person who originally received it knows the value of love. So, in order to experience God's love, which is true love, we must first experience receiving God's love.

God's love is the love that obtains the forgiveness of the atonement given through Jesus Christ. Therefore, those who have a clear experience of the grace of atonement can truly love. If the experience of atonement is clear through the grace of repentance, you can naturally fall in love with that love and love others.

God's love is not made with a person, but with a heart of forgiveness and grace. Therefore, we can love people properly only when we deeply experience and realize the love of God given through Jesus.

The history of Christianity can be said to be the history of God's atoning love through Jesus Christ.

3. The 3 Elements of True Love

Looking at the main text, looking at God's true love into three elements,

4-7 '4. Love is patient, love is gentle, does not envy, love does not boast, is not arrogant,5. does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil,

6. It does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, 7. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1) 4'Love is patient...'

2) 5'. It does not seek its own.', not selfish.

3) 6 'It does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth, and it means truth in the truth, not love or emotion.

1 John 4:20 “If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. He who does not love the brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Because God's love is in us, I pray that you will become saints of love so that we can become the confessional life of those who have been saved.
