Title [8.1] Love is to be together.
Content Love is to be together. (1 John 4:7-8)
As John grew closer to the Lord, he was changed in a wonderful way. Ladies and gentlemen, people do not change just because they have been to church for a long time or because they believe in their motherhood. The reason John is changing is because he had the Lord close to him. Therefore, “the change of faith is not the length of time, but the distance from the Lord.” The Gospel of John records the scene in which John witnessed the crucifixion. The reason that each and every last voice and breath of Jesus on the cross is recorded without missing out is because the disciple who remembered the voice of Jesus because he was closest to the cross was John. Although he had a faulty personality and some shortcomings, the reason he received the trust and love of Jesus enough to ask for his mother Mary was because he was the person closest to Jesus.
People say that John was not a martyr. But some say that this man is a ‘living martyr’. Although he was not crucified, his appearance, his heart, and his life were the same as seeing the Lord dying on the cross, just like the phrase “I have been crucified with Christ” (Galatians 2:20). was to experience. It is more difficult to be martyred in death than to be martyred alive. Martyrdom is fighting sin every day, trying not to betray the Lord, and trying to live for the Lord.
