Title: Love My Neighbor as Yourself!

Contents

In today's text, we see that a lawyer appeared and tempted Jesus, saying, "Teacher! What must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus asked again, "What is written in the law, and how do you read it?" You said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your might, with all your might and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.’” Jesus heard him say and said, “Your answer is correct, go and do it! Then you will live!”

Then the lawyer, trying to show himself as righteous, asked Jesus, “Then who is my neighbor?” will ask Then Jesus noticed this lawyer's cunning and told the story of the man who was hit by a robber when he asked, "Who is my neighbor?"

Therefore, if we are children of God who have believed in Jesus and have been saved today, we should also take care of the naked and hungry people with sincerity. That is the practice of the love that Jesus spoke of.” He teaches the saints to act like the good Samaritan. The saints who heard that word knew that it was Jesus' words, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and they are passionately spreading love in the flesh.

There are two things we need to realize through this passage today. First, the priest or the Levite could not easily help the man who was robbed because the law, the law, was blocking their actions. ). Jesus, who is well aware of this principle, deliberately asked the lawyer this question.

However, today's leaders, who do not know the essence of the Bible, are described as very bad people who did not take care of the priests or Levites who were robbed. Then you should know that the words are also applicable to you.

The second great thing we need to realize through today's text is that the Samaritans were never good or kind to take care of the man who was hit by a robber. It is said, “There is no one righteous in this world, not even one.” Every time we read the text today, many people think that the Samaritans are good and helped those who were hit by robbers, while the priests and Levites were evil and thought that they gave relief to those who were hit by robbers. But this is a voice that does not know the essence.

The reason the Samaritan came to help him was that he was not obligated to keep the law like the Jews, so he could easily help the man who was robbed. If you don't know this principle and say that the Samaritans are good and come to help him today, and the priests are evil and give him relief, then what the Bible is trying to say goes in a completely different direction.

And what spiritual people today need to be more careful about is that they must not imitate a Samaritan helping a man who was hit by a robber and mistake it for love of neighbor even today.

At the time of Jesus, the Jews were under the law, so it was almost impossible to help a man who was hit by a robber (this part is also explained in detail in the sermon). However, the Samaritans said that it was not difficult to help their neighbors because they lived without the law.

Therefore, today's Christians are also people who have lived without the law, so they can easily help the vagrants or poor people who wander the streets if they want. That is why today, both you and I practice love for our neighbor, and there are exceptionally many Christians who visit orphanages or nursing homes to do this kind of work. The spiritual people should not take these things and mistake them for what Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

At least, in order for spiritual people to put into practice Jesus' words, "Love your neighbor as yourself," it is not love that is spread by giving bread or a few pennies, but "the love that you give by giving your life is true love."

However, no matter how spiritual they are who have received the Holy Spirit, how can people who have only one life to give their lives to their neighbors without conditions? The question is, where in the world is there anyone who can afford to give his life even to his neighbor when he is too desperate to live? Perhaps there is no such person in this world even after washing his eyes.

That's why Jesus is saying, "It's impossible for you, but I can do it. After you have me in you, you can too." In the end, it is said that only those who serve Jesus are willing to sacrifice their own lives for others.

Without knowing the great secret hidden in the Bible, whenever we hear the story of a man who was robbed today, we misunderstand that the Samaritans were good and helped the man who was robbed, and that the priests and Levites were evil and gave relief to those who met them. If you go to church today and don't belong to the evil one, you have to help a lot of poor people unconditionally! and it made me think.

So, this is an example of how the church today is ignoring the essence of what God wants to say, and how much it is preoccupied with the pretentiousness. Because it is before the full light of hunger comes, the church in the world might say that, but the problem is people who are living their faith under the true light.

It is not that they receive the true light with gratitude and joy, but rather fear the light and are reluctant to come near it. At the same time, he is afraid that his inner heart will be exposed, so he wants to remain a good Samaritan on the outside while hiding his inner heart. Even if such a person lasts a lifetime, the Spirit of the Lord will not remain in their heart.
