Title: Loyal Disciple / Matthew 25:11-30
In Matthew 25, three parables are recorded.
The first parable tells the parable of the ten virgins (25:1--13) <Waiting for the Lord>.
The second parable is the parable of the talents (14--30).
The third parable teaches the parable of the sheep and the goats (31--46) <The Parable of Love>.
All of the above parables are related to the Last Judge, Jesus Christ.
Therefore, it is a lesson that speaks about the correct attitude of the saints waiting for the Lord's return.
Today, we would like to share grace through the parable of the talents.
In the text, the master is Jesus Christ, the servant is the church member, and the day of account is the day of the Second Coming to judge
speak.
the meaning of talent
The original talent means the amount of gold, but in the text this means that the Holy Spirit gives people
It refers to a given gift (charisma - the gift of grace).
As the text shows, 5, 2, 1, each person has a different shape of the gift.
But the week is the same. 1 Corinthians 12:4-5 “There are different gifts, but the same Spirit, but different offices.
I am the same," he says.
1. I speak of a faithful servant who has been praised.
5,2, The recipient went to Pharaoh and traded with it.
He says to them that the Lord is a good and faithful servant.
What is a loyal servant? What kind of paper would you like?
1 Corinthians 4:2--It is said that what the entrusted person seeks is loyalty.
This saying is very much quoted in the church.
In verse 25:16, when he received the talent, he went right away.
---He saved time.
It is easy to misunderstand this to mean zeal. If you just have zeal, the Lord will
I think that I was loyal, but the word loyalty means loyalty in the original language or in Korean == that zeal.
element is not included.
sure
You can't say that you are loyal by being lazy, but the word zeal is emphasized.
not.
So what would you like?
There is a reason why this paper is right on the back of the main text.
A servant knows exactly what is required of him and does it.
went for
I didn't go to work saying "probably this is it" appropriately, but I know the owner's will
It went according to the owner's will.
This man went and made good use of what he was given, and in the end made a lot of money.
To be loyal === someone who knows exactly what God wants.
Being loyal to the church means what does the church want from me now? exactly
It means to serve (work) according to that purpose.
So, before you start working, you need to know exactly what you want from me.
There is a metaphor that comes to mind when talking about loyalty.
Parable "Monkey and Master"++"Contemporary Church and Volunteer Life, Emmaus, 1985.pp21--22)
The monkey was, in a sense, a loyal monkey.
He was eager to follow Paris.
But
I couldn't figure out why the owner told me to follow the flies.
It was to rest, not to catch flies.
Just like the one who received one talent today.
If you don't know the master's will, everything is like this.
==It becomes unbelievable.
====>Reliability in church is really important.
Butler appointment, guidance, duty, teacher, choir,
Those who use all their talents will be rewarded by God for being loyal.
The one who received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid the money.
He did not know the master's intentions as to why he gave it.
The master did not return and say that he was loyal to him, but in 25:26--30.
“You wicked and lazy servant.”
He did not deceive his master or satisfy his lusts.
Do you want to trade with that money and keep some of it or spend pocket money on your own business?
No.
It did not go right away, and it did not faithfully keep the original intention of its master.
So in verses 25:18, the ground was dug.
I lost your precious gift.
How are you?
When the Lord meets the work, even if humans give him the office, God allows it.
because of.
But I buried it. The talent the Lord has given to all of us
There is.
Those who use it well are the faithful ones.
All of you who want to make a true dedication now
Be a true disciple of the Lord in order to bear the talents the Lord has given you.
Don't put me ahead of the Lord.
Let's live each day admiring the grace of salvation that the Lord has given us.
A Christian who not only gives us an abundant life, but also bears the talents well
I believe you will.
To be praised as a faithful servant, not as a cynical, unproductive, evil servant.
You can become a saint.
