Title: Loyalty and Reward/Matthew 25:14-30

Content: Loyalty and reward/Matthew 25:14-30

Introduction

Because God is just, he rewards the faithful and punishes the disloyal.

This morning, focusing on the text, I would like to share grace by talking about the reward that the faithful received and the punishment that the disloyal received.

In the text, when a person goes to another country, it means that Jesus has gone to heaven, servants refer to believers, servants refer to believers and church officers, and each talent entrusted according to their talents refers to a mission. .

1. Loyal Servant

1) Posture

(1) As soon as I received my mission, I went straight to work (16).

“He who has received the five talents, go immediately.”

“Do the same to him who has received two talents” (17)

(2) They worked hard and doubled their profits (16).

“He traded with it and made five more talents.”

“I had two more talents left over” (17).

(3) We have fulfilled our mission without complaint.

2) Advanced

(1) I was praised (21,23).

“It is well done, good and faithful servant, for you have been faithful in little things,

(2) To participate in the joy (21,23)

“Participate in the joy of your master.”

(3) I was entrusted with more things (21,23).

“You have been faithful in little things; I will put you in charge of many things.”

2. The disloyal servant

1) Posture

(1) made excuses (24)

“Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you did not scatter.”

(2) I was afraid of my master (25)

“I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. Behold, you have received yours.”

(3) Did not carry out the mission (25)

“You hid your talent in the ground”

2) Punishment received

(1) Rebuked (26-27)

“You wicked and lazy servant, did you know that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I have not sown? Then you should leave my money with the money grabbers, and receive my dues and profits.”

(2) Mission deprived (28-29)

“Take the one talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents; from everyone who has, he will receive, and he will have an abundance, and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.”

(3) I was cast out (30)

“Cast this useless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

conclusion

1. We are all called to be children of God, but we are also workers.

2. We have received the mission (talents) from the Lord according to our circumstances and circumstances.

3. Although God does accounting on the last day, He also repents every year, every month, and every day.

4.Dear brothers and sisters, the settlement with God in 2003 is less than a month away, but have you doubled the profits with the talents you received while welcoming the new year?

Or is it still not buried in the ground?

5. Although the remaining period is short, I hope that you will receive a reward instead of being punished for being loyal.
