Title: Loyalty in Small Things
Contents
A certain master went to a foreign country and entrusted his servants with possessions of five talents, two talents, and one talent.
God calls each of us. Some call at 9 am, some at 11 o'clock, some at 2 pm, and some at 5 pm at sunset in life.
They called each of them and said that they entrusted their possessions. The real estate that we wear, use, and possess now is not mine, but the Lord's. We are only temporarily entrusted with your possessions.
He entrusted his possessions equally to his servants. He said he left it to his talent. It is left to each individual's character. Those who are good at singing become choirs, and those who are good at teaching become teachers.
But don't blame yourself for not being good at singing. Let's pray.
Let's discover that I have a little talent that I don't have. Please do your work diligently through it. Not everyone can be good at teaching. Each has a gift. It teaches us to use that gift.
In verse 15, it is said that he 'left' It was said that the owners each left their possessions and left. We need to keep this in mind. The servant who received five and two talents worked hard as if he was still there even after his master had left. The servant who received one talent did not work. buried in the ground. This is different.
The same goes for the clergy. Be faithful to the task entrusted to you with zeal, both present and absent. The same is true for district leaders to look after the district. Whether the pastor is full-time or not, he must take care of the district with zeal.
The owner gave it to me in the text and left. I ask you to keep this passage in mind in your life of faith this year. However, according to verse 16, the servant who received five and two talents did not hesitate. I didn't procrastinate. I put it into practice right away. It acted immediately. They traded and made double profits. The servant who received one talent does not have the word 'Pharaoh'.
The servant who received two and five talents practiced it immediately.
This tells us that we should pray as soon as we hear the word and act as soon as we are moved. With the possessions of the master, we must dedicate the talent, material, time, and space that the Lord has given us.
Verse 17 says, “In the same way, the servant who had received the five talents went to Pharaoh and traded with them, and made another five talents, and did the same with the servant who had received the two talents.” 'Again' was attached to the five talents, and the servant who received the two talents also had 'again' attached to it. It is the belief of 'Ttoto'. The servant who received one talent does not have 'again'. That is, there is nothing left.
Here, the phrase 'do it like that' is a passage that should be picked up. The phrase 'do it like that' is not something that you do with your own arbitrariness or your own thoughts. This 'in this way' was done as the servant who received the five talents did. That's what I learned. It is the relationship between master and servant. It is the relationship between brother and sister. It is a relationship between seniors and juniors. It is the relationship between the old and the new. You should do that.
In this way, the servant who received the two talents did just as the servant who received the five talents did. So is believing in Jesus. Conduction is important.
Some people did evangelism, but they do not tithe. The first person who evangelized to that person did not tithe. There was always someone coming late. I see that the person who evangelized always comes late, so the person who received the evangelism also comes late.
The servant who received the five talents left a lesson following the one who received the two talents. However, the servant who received the one talent did not do the same. The servant who received one talent here was captivated by a sense of relative poverty: 'Whoever gives two or five talents gives only one talent.'
With that in mind, I buried it in the ground and lived idle day by day.
Even in business, only those who conduct market research accurately first will succeed. Successful people do the same, and the next person also succeeds. Let's keep in mind that so is faith.
If you look at some people, there are many people who can become short-distance runners in their religious life, but not long-distance runners. I move, register with the church, and I quickly associate with the members of the church and have a good time. However, after less than a year, I borrowed someone else's money and my credit has deteriorated like this and I can't stay there, so I move to another place.
On the other hand, there are those who speak few words and wonder what he will do. However, if you keep dating, you will want to be close to them because they are reliable and strong. Others come from far away. I wonder how long he wants to go, and I wonder if he just puts it on the school register and gets a job, but I attend regularly for a month, two months, a year, two years. This is the long-distance athlete faith. I hope our faith will last this long.
The owner is back. In verse 21, the settlement comes, and the master said, "Good and faithful servant, since you have been faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master."
Here, 'a small thing' is said, but this is not a small thing. One talent is 6,000 denarii. One denarius is the daily wage of a healthy worker. Let's think of a daily wage of 20,000 won these days. If you calculate the amount of money called one talent, it is 120 million won.
The servant who received two talents was 240 million won, and the servant who received five talents was 600 million won. However, the servant who received 240 million won traded with it and made 480 million won, and the servant who received 600 million won traded and made 1.2 billion won. How is this a little thing?
However, we must keep in mind that no matter how big we are, it is a very small thing in God's eyes. How big would it be if you made 1.2 billion with your 600 million fortune? However, he said that it is small in the eyes of God and that he will entrust it with many things.
This means that the trusting relationship between master and servant is restored. It refers to an elevation of status from a servant status to a friend relationship. How grateful would you be? How grateful would you be for believing in me, entrusting me with so many things, and recognizing me in this way? We hope we have this kind of fun.
In the world, even though they may work in different circumstances and situations with different talents, they will enjoy eternal life and blessings equally in heaven. The glory to be enjoyed in heaven is equal to the great master Billy Graham who saved millions or the old man mopping the country church.
However, are the instant joy of eating seafood and the joy of singing hymns when prayers are answered? The two pleasures are not the same. When we receive the Lord's answer and sing praises, the emotion of tears lasts for a long time. No matter how good the food is, it's enough when you're hungry. When the stomach goes down, the food is expensive, but the quiet joy of singing hymns lasts a long time.
The joy of realizing when you hear the Word also lasts a long time. We hope you enjoy this fun.
The servant who received one talent complains. A worthless servant is talkative.
“You are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.”
To be a hardened person, they are a yellow squirrel, a misogynist, a scoundrel, a savage nerd, and a jarin gobi. A slave refers to the master who fed him, clothed him, and put him to bed. When you hear a complainer complain, the complaint is actually speaking for yourself. Complaining for a person who doesn't work is actually talking for himself. It is rare for a person who does not work to not complain much. Those complaints are complaints that one must hear.
The servant who received five talents and two talents did not speak. However, the servant who received the one talent reviled his master as a hard man. To reap where you do not sow and reap where you do not sow means you are an unearned person.
Faith does not begin with fear. It should start with gratitude and joy. Don't start with the fear that comes from the master-slave relationship. It should start with a heart of gratitude and excitement.
It's not just about not doing bad things. Don't just be lucky that you didn't get into an accident. It is wrong not to do good. If you bury it in the ground, it is only the main shrine. It should be borne in mind that interest is accrued from the main temple. When you are a new believer and when you become a deacon, the number of chapters to read the Bible should be different and the time to pray should be different. The amount you donate should vary.
In our religious life, the longer the years of faith, the more interest should be charged.
However, there are some believers who sell even the main temple. At this point, interest must be paid. The Lord is asking for it.
The famous British orchestra of talented musicians was preparing for the final rehearsal for the Christmas concert. Many spectators were watching the final rehearsal. However, the conductor started conducting and music came out using all instruments, but there was no response from the audience. After a while, the conductor suddenly shouted 'Stop'. All instruments that were playing stopped. But the conductor pointed out one person. "Why are you alone?"
He was a piccolo player. The piccolo is a very small instrument. The piccolo player was stuck in a corner. He doesn't even show his face. I had a thought that I might not be able to blow. He had a cold, so he didn't call. That's what the conductor pointed out.
I practiced again because I broke this board because of you. The next day, I saw how many people were so moved that there had never been a concert and so many standing ovations.
The problem is that the piccolo sound of a very small and unnamed person changes depending on whether it impresses or not. Let's be faithful in the little things.
There is a Hebrew proverb that says, 'God prefers adverbs to nouns'. Nouns are names, and adverbs are names. Toh has no value. However, the role of Mr. Toh is very large. In a Korean proverb, there is a share for those who go out, but not for those who sleep.
It leaves the share of those who go out and work, but not the share of those who sleep. Because I'm lazy.
Let us be diligent and not sluggish; let us serve the Lord with zeal. You may think that your life of faith is small and small, but I pray that you will become a saint who is zealous with the thought that it is a shortcut to God's work and the foundation for great things. Amen.
