Sermons for Preaching

Title: Luke 23:28 Weep for your children

The two communities God has given us are the home and the church. However, the devil always attacks and deceives the family and church community established by God. In particular, they focus on attacking children away from God. When children move away from God, their faith is not inherited. Also, the church will disappear from the youth and the next generation. The devil knows this situation and constantly attacks the faith of his children.

They attack the lives of their children. The devil attacked the lives of the Israelites who were living in Egypt, telling them to kill all their sons. Even when Jesus was born, the devil, through Herod, brutally attacked the lives of boys under the age of two.

They attack their children so they can't worship. The purpose of God's exodus of the Israelites from Egypt was to serve God on Mount Sinai (Exodus 3:12), that is, to receive worship. That is why He gave us the tabernacle where we could worship and gave us the Word, the Ten Commandments and the laws that we should listen to when we worship. Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who was stubborn until the sixth plague, asks who will go to worship after the seventh plague of hail. “We must take all our sons and daughters, including children and the elderly,” Moses said. But Pharaoh says, adults should go and worship” (Ex 10:8-11). In this way, the devil persistently attacks children to prevent them from worshiping.

The sins of the times and adults attack their children. When the culture of the city of Nineveh and the sins of the adults reached before God, God sent Jonah to save the city of Nineveh. This is because in the city of Nineveh there were about 120,000 generations of children (Jon 4:11) who could not distinguish between right and left hands. The lives of ignorant children were attacked and nearly killed because of the sins of the times and adults. As the coming of the Lord draws nearer, the devil will attack his children like a roaring lion in a more subtle and sophisticated way.

In the face of these attacks of the devil, we must pray so that our children can draw closer to God, who is the absolute sovereign of life. We must weep for your children by holding on to Jesus' words to weep for your children (Luke 23:28). We must pray to receive the Holy Spirit.

“Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
