Title: Luke 6:27-38 Love your enemies

Luke 6:27-38 Love Your Enemies Topic: 22. Love. 2012. 4. 8.

Introduction

: The principles of life that Jesus spoke of must be engraved into our hearts.

Because it is the salvation of society and the hope of man.

They must act in opposition to every disposition of society and every disposition of human existence. Because people go against what Jesus said.

1. A new principle of life. (27-31)

Jesus is speaking to his disciples (20) and to those who hear (27).

1) New principles for dealing with human relationships. (27-29)

① “Love your enemies” We must respect and honor everyone (1 Peter 2:17).

* To love one's enemies is contrary to human nature (rebellion).

* The only attitude believers should have for their enemies is mercy and compassion. (36)

② “Doing good to those who hate” is more than a literal meaning.

* Actually doing something for the person you hate.

* Recognizing that he too must approach God, he is looking for a way to do good.

③ “Bless those who curse” Bless the people.

* Speak softly and use kind and reconciling words.

④ “Pray for those who insult you” Not only the insulters, but also those who want to take advantage of them.

* Pray for forgiveness of the persecutor, peace with the persecutor, salvation for the persecutor, and correction of their behavior

⑤ “Turn that cheek to me who strikes this cheek” The original word for “bulk” means the jaw or jawbone.

* The believer must not take revenge for bitter insults or contempts, threats or injuries, as well as not to retaliate.

2) New principles of dealing with property. (29-30)

① “Do not refuse even your underwear to the one who takes away your outer garment.”

* Jews wear outerwear and underwear, and under Jewish law, underwear can be taken as debt or pledge.

However, the outer garment cannot be taken as debt or collateral. Because it could be a single bee.

* It is difficult to provide a coat (overcoat) if necessary. to defend against taking his property from the believer, or

It means not to stand up or argue.

② “Give to those who ask of you” and help those in need.

* Believers must give, and must not turn (reject) when someone asks for it. But

This is not to say that giving without consideration is unconditional.

“It prospers with the one who lends graciously, and he will do his work with justice” (Psalm 112:5).

③ “Do not ask the one who takes yours again” If the person needs it,

If you have to take it or hurt it to get it back, don't ask for it.

3) Principles that cover all actions. (31)

This is a practical expression of “Treat others the way you want them to be treated”.

3) Principles that cover all actions. (31)
