Title: Luxury Faith (1 Samuel 15:10-21)

Contents

luxury faith

1 Samuel 15:10-21

In the days of Noah, the world was full of sin (Genesis 6:5), and he lamented that God had created man (Genesis 6:7). On the other hand, Noah was such a great believer that he was called “a perfect man and one who walked with God” in his day. Just as luxury goods are of high quality and people are proud of, believers in luxury goods are recognized by God and love and have a great presence. A luxury life is determined by character, not money. And to become a luxury life, faith must first become a luxury.

So, how can I become a luxury faith? First, we must turn crisis into opportunity. A certain girl sees goodness and, if she meets her six times, she sees the other person's faults and ends each time. Then one day, when I meet someone again, my faults start to show. I didn't want to now, so I met him for the sixth time and immediately proposed to him. And it went smoothly and the marriage was a success. It turned a crisis into an opportunity.

Second, our faith must not be corrupted. In verse 17 of today's text, Samuel became the head of the tribe of Israel at a time when King Saul considered himself small. In 1 Samuel 9:21, Saul confessed that his tribe was the smallest among all the tribes and that his family was the weakest among the tribes of Benjamin. When I first became king, I was humble, but now I am proud. Faith has changed. David, on the other hand, was different. Although he is unfairly pursued by Saul, he spares his life twice when the opportunity for revenge comes to him. It was because of the belief that he could not kill God's anointed servant. Because of this belief, he eventually ascends as the second king without getting a drop of blood. Acts 13:22 says that David was a man after God's own heart. It was a luxury belief. Faith must not be corrupted. You have to be faithful to the end to stand in the faith of luxury.

Third, we must look into God's eyes. Today's text explains why King Saul left the spoils of Amalek. “Because I was afraid of the people, and I obeyed them” (1 Samuel 15:24). Saul was a man who was more conscious of men than of God. Here's the reason why he couldn't become a luxury believer. But David was different. In some cases, the Amalekites took away David and his men's wives, children, and property. At this time, the people got excited and tried to kill David. But in this crisis, David turned to God. “… Let us stone David. David was in great danger, but the LORD his God gave him courage. David inquired of the LORD and said, "... “In the end, with God's help, he regains everything he lost. When he looked into God's eyes, God was on his side. Moreover, God said, “I will… Let me be the Sovereign of Israel, and wherever you go, I will be with you... I will make your name honorable” (2 Samuel 7:8-9). Only those who still depend on God can enjoy these blessings even in a desperate crisis situation.

Dear brothers and sisters, use the crisis of faith as an opportunity. Go on the path of unchanging faith. And in any situation, don't look at people and rely only on God. I pray in the name of the Lord that by living this way, you and I will be built up as high-quality believers.
