Let's share grace through the story of Lydia, the founder of the Philippian church. First of all, Philippi is the place where Philip II Alexander's father named the city "Krenides" in 356 B.C., and it is a city with an important history and significance. There, Paul met a Lydia woman in the “Gangides River” during his missionary journey and preached the gospel, and the Philippian church was born through Lydia. May we discover ourselves through the figure of a Lydia woman.
First: I received the Word fully
“When a woman named Lydia, who served God as a purple cloth merchant in the city of Thyatira, was listening, the Lord opened her heart to obey Paul” (verse 14). Businessman. It is a precious grace to live a life of faith while doing business and to listen to the Word of God. When we listened to Paul, the Lord opened our hearts to believe, obey, and dedicate ourselves. It is God who made us believe and accept the Word. When you listen to the Word, your heart will be opened and your body and everything will follow. This is called a life full of the Word.
Second: He was baptized and saved his family.
“He and his household were all baptized, and they begged us, saying, If you know me as a believer in the Lord, come into my house and stay.” And he compelled them to stay” (verse 15). Lydia was baptized immediately after confessing her faith. All of Lydia's family were baptized. The whole family received Jesus Christ and were baptized. Baptism is devotion, faith, and martyrdom. It shows that Lydia's personality and influence are great. to families

Third: I lived a life of service.
“He and his household were all baptized, and they begged us, saying, If you know me as a believer in the Lord, come into my house and stay.” (verse 15) Christian hospitality was one of the outstanding virtues of the early church. It was. After accepting Jesus Christ and baptizing the whole family, we invited Paul and his companions to stay at home. They would have rested and served food. And from there the Philippian church was born. In addition, the Philippian church later provided Paul with financial help several times, and later, when Paul was imprisoned in Rome, he also sent an offering through Epaphroditus.
